I'm just a blog-machine...

I've just finished some work for Nic, in the shape of a flyer design and a website placeholder until we finalise the designs for that.

Slam your eyeballs against my site, right over here.

I do like that flyer. The heart/wings/blood-splatter behind miss Esme looks rather nice.

I get my results from Uni next week. I think so, anyway.

Everything has changed. No job. Left that yesterday. Uni is finished, obviously.

So....what next?

To be quite frank: I'm terrified.

Be proud of yourself for what you achieved and try to enjoy the time before starting work, I think that's your best bet. And you're going to be fine, no doubt about that.

You really miss Snake, don't you? You big grump wink

Did you sort those visitor's permits?

Right, I had some shitty news on sunday morning, and I'm a bit upset - but mostly I'm plain furious.

My dad and his girlfriend were in a nasty car accident that has left my old man's motor totally knackered, and himself and his mrs in a quavering and miserable state. Some fucking stupid kid, two days after passing his test came hurtling down a...

Are those My Chemical Romance lyrics you quoted there?! biggrin
qwerty:
Yes, a tea pot is generally for sharing but I like to just have my little one for when I'm working on something.

And on the subject of my hair... Yes, it is awfully fucking emo. So much so that when I started playing My Sims the other day, setting up a character for my brother, and I was going through the few available hair styles.. Guess who's hair cut was exactly duplicated on that list and called "EMO"? And I have more than a few pairs of skinny fit jeans now.. Should I be worried? Nah, I'll worry when I start crying black mascara.

THE BALLAD OF TOM DEAN

Yes, it's finally finished. And no, It's not as grand or a s flashy as I would have liked to have made it, but that what's happens when you have a strict time budget, and you're struck down with a bout of food poisoning in the last week. Heh.

So yeah, have a peek and leave a youtubey comment or...

I posted in the Help Me I'm Stupid thread, but I thought I'd ask you as well since you're in Brighton and someone I think of as having bright computer related ideas.
Computer is broken. Excuse copy/pasting, I'm lazy.
Basically, you know the 'on' switch. Well, it's broken. Big flat fat power button, it's pressed in at an angle so it's diagonal and far back in the socket or whatever it sits in. And it doesn't work. Well, it does work, but only if I poke at it rapidly shouting obscenities for a while until it flickers into life.
Have tried levering it out with pins and knives and all manner of fun toys, no dice.
Have taken side off computer and cannot get behind switch as hard drive and stuff is in the way.

Basically I just don't want to pay a million pounds for some smarmy computer git to take it away for a month and flick the switch back into place, but I'm incapable of doing it myself.

Do you know anyone who is good with computers that I can pay instead of getting ripped off?

Well, it's very very nearly finished. Just a few more seconds of animation to go.

Clickety click for the preview screen shots.

Never really used after effects, meant to be pretty powerful program. I'm just 2D really, so shake and combustion for me. A viral I did is imbedded in my myspace page, think there's a link on my profile thingy. Other than that, worked on a becks commercial last year, the 4 different animated guys dancing in the street? Think it's being used again for becks light. You'll see much more of my work on the 17th of July though smile
Just finished working on Harry Potter, 10 bloody months of it! Still junior, but damn I love this job.
Do you work free lance down in Brighton? I had a friend down there who worked for a graphic design company, but I haven't been in touch for years. I wish there were a few post production places, or a better train service. Lived in Brighton for a few years, and would love to move there eventually. Might not have a choice, can't afford to buy in London biggrin
firemonkey:
Unfortunately, I can't claim the viral idea, it was shot by a director/friend of mine called Chris Cairns. I just did all the post production work on it. Brilliant idea, think it won an award, got to have sound for it to work properly smile

Well well. 26. Whoever would have thought I'd have made this far without:

:: going to prison

:: being murdered

:: becoming mentally ill

Life is, apparently, full of surprises.

Go and look at this.

See some of you next weekend. robot

So after deciding that I didn't want to kill 2000 people on the cruise ship to test Dufraisnes latest toy - I was severely reprimanded and he now had me in his pocket. One more slip up, and it was to become painfully obvious that it wasn't really him I was taking my orders from. His next assisgnment has me traversing the frozen wastes in...

i think the stupid one is perhaps the best idea ever, i'll draw difrent beards on mirrors so peaple can 'try out a beard' before they grow one.

i think perhaps a silly one is in order.
creamygoodness:
Haha, you wish. No, me and glassmachine are going to run an ARG. You remember us discussing some time ago that idea about the web project you were going to do about the robot sending transmissions back through time abuot the end of the world or soemthing? Well kind of like that, I won't go into details as it's eventually going to be kinda hush-hush, but hit me up on MSN and we'll chat about it. I think it'll intrigue you and we might even be able to use your help.

Well, the animation is finished, and handed in. I'll render you out a youtubey version soon. I'm still very busy writing a presentation about how virtual reality opeartes within videogames. Sigh.

I'll leave you with this, fresh from stupid HQ.

Are you calling me a washing up liquid? Damn your eyes.

I think engagement with the world, characters and storyline is half the appeal to be honest. I've found other RPGs soulless and overly technical - but then I like a bit of stimulus in my games other than just purely mental.

I enjoyed X but as far as the actual game side of it went, it was indeed pish. It was faaar too easy to level up and there weren't enough side quests to challenge you aside from the central narrative. As far as the series goes, it's probably the worst one to start with. The whole turn based battling was getting pretty tired as well. thankfully they've changed the battle system now so it's a whole lot more adaptable and dynamic. It's all in real time as well - no pissing about with going and making your dinner halfway through a battle then coming back to click 'attack'. From what I can gather, the world in this one is a lot more explorable than previous games in the series and there are enough sidequests to keep you going for 150-200 hours plus. For 30 all in, I don't think that's bad at all.I guess it's just a matter of taste when it comes down to it. I love it and I'll keep buying the new ones as they're released.

Have you and all your fellow manky goblins over at WoW spent the past few months bitching about it? biggrin
poptard:
what are you putting on them?

robots? if so i'm gonna get some robots and draw hoodies on them
