I enjoy the physicallity of sports, but I cannot stand to watch them on TV, or watch any TV for that matter, nor do I have any interest in following any team or one player. Ask me to play any sport, and I would most likely accept, but ask me to come to an indoor sport viewing gathering, I would politely decline. However, if I am asked to view a game at the actual event, I would accept if I had nothing else to do since I find that more real; yet it would probably not be a defining moment in my life.
I understand that others have massive amounts of interest/passion within the fields of sports, and I sincerely hope that you continue to have that thrill and excitement in your lives. For me, it does not matter who wins what or who has better stats. I admire the skill that various athletes have just as I do with the various skills that writers, musicians, artists, et cetera, . . . have.
I enjoy being physically active, so I run, rock climb, ride a bike, walk, work as a cook, prefer writing by hand, skip, and play tag with kids any chance I get. Yet, I generally get neither inspiration nor enjoyment from watching others play if I am not able to join.
