I was brushing my teeth in the sink this morning, when I realized..I haven''t done this in a long time.
No, not brushing my teeth silly. I brush them everyday twice a day since I was a little boy. Never had a cavity. Sometimes I brush them 3 times a day even, like if I eat corn on the cob or I go down on an unkempt girl, but um......what was my point again? Oh yeah..
So I've been brushing my teeth in the shower everyday since I was 14. Why you may ask? Simple.
My dad used to drink 18 Budweisers or Schlitz every other day when he'd come home from work. He used to listen to the same tape while drinking too, comprised of:
Loverboy - Turn Me Loose
Scorpions - Still Loving You
Jimmy Buffett - Margaritaville
Bob Segar - Against the Wind
Eagles - Hotel California
Rod Stewart - Maggie May
and Neil Diamond - Love on the Rocks
When he'd get drunk, he'd start talking shit about when he used to be a boxer and how my mom is a bitch and a slut...you know, bitter divorced "I still miss her" drunk bullshit. When he used to drink, he would get so hammered and lazy that he'd miss the toilet...so he'd piss in the sink. Yup, piss in the sink.
You dont know how pissed I used to get at him. We'd have it out, but he seemed to always win the argument with "Well I pay the rent, so you can go fuck-off if you don't like it" or " I clean the bathroom, so fuck you".
He had a good point, cause I hate ccleaning my bathroom and I didnt have a job at that time, but still to this day it's fucking weird to brush my teeth in the sink. I think I'm traumatized or something.
The End.
So today I've been thinking about pissing in sinks, brushing my teeth, and how dearly I miss my father. It's been 3 years now since he checked-out due to kidney cancer, and the holidays just make it even rougher. I can still remember how he used to give me kisses at age 23 as if I was still his little 5 year-old Underoos-wearing Bobby and how he used to give me $5 bucks out of his wallet when he only had $10 bucks to his name. He was the bestest friend I ever had.
Fuck me...pass me the pipe.
(Listening to : Bruce Springsteen - Bobby Jean)
P.S. - Sorry if this journal entry is a bit "heavy" but it's the holidays and after the White-Out yesterday, I'm a bit down haha

Damn you! The Mets signed Cliff Floyd! Now that means the Dodgers will get stuck with McGriff. Grrrr...
