This evening, I attended a seminar on Electoral Reform (mainly focusing on British Columbia, Quebec, and New Brunswick). I thoroughly enjoyed the notion of a parliamentary government based on a mix of both single-representative constituencies and proportional representation based on party.
Of course, I sat through the long-winded audience 'questions' (which are nothing more than opportunities to voice their opinions in a public forum). Fortunately, most were on topic, except one chap. Recalling that this is a lecture series on 'electoral reform', he threw down an off topic, far left-wing rant of how the current governmental system is domineered solely by corporate interests, prudently adding an irrelevant question near the end.
How I love shit disturbers. He rightfully earned the sarcastic response given by one of the speakers.
And to think that this was my mindset in junior high / high school!
