I think your german is still quite well. like you said, just ein wenig rostig.
you can use double S instead of (or 3 or szett). thats not really correct in every word but its "allowed" in typing-speech
you also can use ae instead of (umlaut a) or ue for (umlaut U) and finally oe for (umlaut O) . these possibilities where chosen for keyboards without umlaute
its really honorable that you like to "nomen kapitalisieren" (btw really excelent choice of words sir 
) but first of all most germans dont know what that means if you tell
its Namenwrter groschreiben...they say aahhhh ok .. no Idont do that ...
since we have internet and everyone is typing his fingers off in chats and boards and stuff, nobody cares anymore for capital letters. it was really discussed if they really should remove it. so what Id like to say was... write just the way you like. we all gonna understand you no matter if you write in english or german.
germans became the language-bastards we speak denglish a mixture of english and deutsch... very strange
