We had a decision to make, today, on how far to go on our ride. If we decided to head farther than Coos Bay, we would be pretty exhausted, but make it home a day earlier. If we decided to stop the night in Coos Bay, then we would retain our estimated arrival date of Friday.
Weather ended up deciding for us. What started off as a relatively warm morning, soon turned into a bone chilling wind. Along the coast the temperature dipped and we were saturated with mist. My gear, out of all of us, was the worst for this. My leathers are completely perforated for warm weather riding, and my undershirt is specifically designed to cool me off, not warm me up.
It basically felt like riding through a 38 degree (F) wind tunnel with damp clothing on. By the time I stopped I was shaking so badly I could barely keep my handle bars straight, and I have a fairly high resistance to cold to boot.
Thankfully, the hotel has an awesome hot tub and I soaked in it for at least 45 minutes. Down side is that I was in a hot tub alone (womp womp).
Another day on the road. Another night still breathing. Can't complain much.
