things are changing- finals are over-
and everyone is leaving-

the best friend i have here is moving -
-also, one of my roommates
is graduating, leaving to be replaced
with an unfamiliar face-

it is getting colder out-
and the days have been quieter--
this is the season of somber-

i am leaving tommorrow to go home to
my family- a visit long awaited, a visit
too awkaward, to surreal-
it will be good for the first couple of days-
then boring and uncomfortable-- i can't wait-

i hate my home town- i hate seeing people
i knew --i hate making small talk - with
those who feel they still know me- or because
we're from the same town they need to greet
me-- i hate the fake smiles-
