Rebirth
Like the phoenix, we fly then fall,
Only to be born of the flames of our demise.
Here, a new hope, a second chance to set things right
A new life, new story, new disguise.
We shake off the dust of our past troubles,
Such things which brought us to our knees,
Yet we find the strength to stand once more
And spread our wings to catch the breeze.
We're captured, enthralled by the thrill of the flight
Loosing all sense of time and space.
Prisoners to our eyes we see wondrous things
To keep from thinking we'll one day leave this place.
We soar to new heights always knowing, yet,
Never thinking, that one could pull us down
Then suddenly a storm, and battered, bruised,
Broken, we tumble towards the ground.
We lose all hope and our spirit, shattered
Accepting that things will never be the same.
And with fear filling our minds and hearts with darkness,
We consume ourselves in flame.
But rise we must from our fires. Sometimes,
We struggle, other times we rise with ease.
Yet we somehow find the strength to stand once more
And spread our wings to catch the breeze.
Just a little something that I jotted down at work the other day when I was bored

How have you been? I wish I could write something more meaningful like that, but all I can do is "tongue-in-cheek" lines. Even with my lack of skill, I missing having some free time at a job that I could write...
