Okay, so you know how any time somebody complains about problems with their PC, some wiseass always quips "So buy a Mac"?

So the other week my computer dies. I'm not sure why or how... it just gives up the ghost for no good reason, at really the worst possible time for both my stress levels and my budget.

Nonetheless... I just bought this Mac....

And what did I say about advice? *points finger in threatening manner*

Seriously though, thanks.

A bit of good news today!

The job offer has been made and accepted, and I shall be returning to the GTA post-haste!

Will the T-dot be able to withstand a prolonged onslaught of flea-ness?! LOCK UP YOUR GUITARS!!

Just to give you a ballpark figure, you should be able to get a one bedroom with parking and utilities and a walk to a subway station of 10 minutes or less for $1200 or less. We live in a fairly posh part of town and that's what we're paying for our largish one bedroom. Slum it a little (or go for an older apartment building) and you can squeeze in under 4 figures easily.

One great thing about all the condos going up in the city is that it's become a tenant's market.

So I've been back for a couple of weeks or so. I stayed for a while with my mom to help get some of my dad's affairs settled, and then I actually got the sense that it would be okay to leave and return south.

I'm dealing with things as best I can. Some days I feel awful, some days I feel okay and then...

Sadly no room would be available until May, at which point I can offer you a good deal on a good sized room in the heart of downtown. But if you need to stay over for a few nights while you find a place and stuff it shouldn't be problem. I'd have to clear it with the roommates but I don't anticipate a problem.
dholokov:
Most places will let you break a year long lease with two months notice. does this mean you deifinetly have the job?

My dad died this morning, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

If you haven't told your dad you love him lately, now would be a good time.

Oh wow. I'm so sorry I didn't see this sooner. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my dad a few years back. My thoughts are with you and your family.

So at the beginning of the weekend, I found out that they're taking my father off chemo. This wasn't good news.

Yesterday, I found out that the prognosis is that he probably has 2-6 months to live.

2006 isn't shaping up to be one of my better years.

I headed off to visit Toronto yesterday, and as always had a delicious time.

Firstly, I had to return some CDs to a friend because I'd borrowed them back in the early summer with the promise I'd have them back "sometime next week". Whoops. Also, I was meeting one of my very best friends, who I hadn't seen in approximately four years, so that was...

I can't believe it's September. Jacket weather already. This is heartbreaking.

Not much has been going on recently with me. I'm still looking for work, and still grateful that I have the opportunity to be a little picky. I'm trying not to think of how long it's been since I started looking. That first opportunity that came down the pipe, only to slip away while...

Ahhhh hahah love that sign! No no the "That's all folks" was in reference to the very temporary photos I put up for less than an hour. I don't post sets anymore and it was a set I snapped for my hubby.

After reading the full journal this morning upon me waking up i realised you were speaking of the utter hot Jane's Addiction. Funny coincidence i was listening that very album yesterday. Have you heard any of Perry Ferrell's solo stuff? It's pretty decent, but nothing brings back memories of spending hours locked in a dark room (a photograhic one, i'm not being emo - whatever the hell that is) and listeining to Billy Corgan, Perry Ferrell, Courtney Love and those Beastie Boys. Ah those were the days.

I too hate it when they screw up move adaptations of books or new-versions of movies. Who the hell are they to think that what they add to it makes it more filmy. If they wanted to make a filmy film they should have written their own damn material instead of being stupid with someone else's work. *sigh* On that note I must get ready for work, good luck with your job search.

So evidently by "we're comfortable waiting for you to get a passport", what they really meant was "we're comfortable hiring somebody else and not letting you know for two weeks".

Looks like no LA for me after all, which actually really sucks because I had to work through a lot of anxieties about such a big move, and having done that, I really wanted it.

Sadly, no "looking for freedom" also means no "Forever Young".
See how much fun this game is?

This waiting is killing me.

Fortunately, I think the heat will get me first.

Still no word from Company #1 (recap - two long phone interviews, now they want an on-site interview and were just waiting for me to get a passport to hook it up, which I've since obtained) or Company #2 (one phone interview and one text interview). I'm not sure where I...

Good day today.

The visit with my parents was wonderful, and they were thrilled that I could bring the girl along. It was all too brief, but I got to spend time with the folks, throw the frisbee with the dog, and one of my Aunts was visiting so I got to see her too.

The drive back was very pleasant, although the 400 was...

Yeah, bacon martinis. A martini made with bacon-infused vodka. I finished mine, but I was very drunk afterwards because I had to drink about a third of a beer after each sip to get the taste off the back of my tounge. I only finished mine because Flux called me out; she drank three of the damn things.
