It's another long one today, just full of spiteful anti-Apple sentiment. You've been warned.

Dear friends, I'd rather be drinking.
In a few weeks, my significant other and I will celebrate 4 years of couplehood. To commemorate this event, I purchased for her this past Monday a 15GB iPod. Well, "purchased" is perhaps overstating the case. She's a pharmacist and I'm just a schmoe...

Oh yeah... i forgot this little footnote from my Toronto Trip.
I used the washroom in the Atrium again. And there were two guys in the next stall again.
And I think I actually heard one of them say "Oh yeah. Suck that cock." again.
What the fuck???
Again - this is all from a "not that there's anything wrong with that" perspective,...

There was no nasty to be done, unfortunately.
My boyfriend just ended up falling right on asleep after finishing his Star Wars novel.
I ended up reading my anatomy book.
Is it wrong that my anatomy book is riveting?

I bought a new jacket. It's called the "Bad Boy". Oooooooooh. If you click on the link (and you know you want to), you can even check out a VIDEO of the jacket IN ACTION.
A warning to the ladies (and, statistically, 10% of the men): seeing me in this jacket will make you want to have the freaky relations with me as expediently...

Nice jacket. I'd do ya. Or at least 10% of ya.
ginny:
Is it just me, or does the comment "We're sure you'll wear it well" at the end of that video sound like a threat? I mean, you have a lot to live up to: it's raw, has an athletic, vintage and, dare we say, bad boy feel! It's CHALK FULL of attitude! How DO you keep this thing on around the ladies?
Most of my journal entries have to do with things I've bought too. I do it because I'm vain, though.
P.S. I've never been to Salad King. I didn't go that day because I found out, contrary to its name, it has nothing to do with salads. I love Thai food, but dogslife doesn't let me eat it because it may have traces of nuts. Aw, nuts!

I say this every time I leave the city. I'm astonished I don't bring it up every time I leave my living room. I hate travelling.
This isn't any kind of judgement on other people and places, nor on those who do enjoy trekking off for parts unknown. I envy you that exploratory spirit. But for me, the very notion of 'elsewhere' makes my...

dholokhov - as you've no journal to reply to, i guess i'll reply here.
I love that version of Rebel Rebel, but he's been playing it for quite a while now. That doesn't make it less spectacular, but it would have been cool to see him switch it up again.
I was surprised that they chose to play China Girl perfectly straight. The last time I saw Bowie, that song kicked off as this jazzy, ethereal thing, and I didn't even know that it was China Girl (the gf caught on way before I did) until, about midway through, they just slammed into a more recognizeable version. It blew me away.
I know what you mean - thinking that guy is nearly sixty years old puts an awful lot of things into perspective, doesn't it?

Yeah, I know the version you mean and concur wholehearedly. Thanks for replying! (profile has entry on it now, thanks for reminding me).
I bought a new cellamaphone. It's purty.
I'm so angry about Canada's legal punk-out on artists' rights that I can barely contain myself.
I'm going drinking.

I thought that every single female character in Cryptonomicon was two dementional and were pretty much manifestations of what Stephenson's dream woman would be. I also thought that the male/ female interaction in the book was ridiculous; honestly, it was like someone who doesn't know how to talk to women writing a book on how to get women.
Oh, and the part where Randy is at that dinner party and bashing on his girlfriend's intellegencia friends pissed me off. He was talking about how all of their work was jsut intellectual masterbation, and I was just thinking, but Randy writing code for everything under the sun jsut because he can isn't masterbation?
Most of the people who recommended that book to me were tech type kids, so I can see why they thought it was the greatest thing ever. Unfortunately, math and I don't get along to well and I have pretty good social skills, so I couldn't relate to it that well.

I just picked up an iTrip, which is a little FM transmitter that attaches to (and is powered by) my iPod. I know that FM transmitters are typically a little wonky, but my car stereo doesn't have a tape deck, so this really seems like an ideal solution. I gotta say, I'm quite happy with it. The sound quality suffers a bit, but when...

Oh. I forgot to tell you... if you want to open a link in a new tab, right-click on the link and select "Open in New Tab".
dogslife:
Or you can set it so your middle button does the "open in new tab" function automatically. I cannot use SG without this feature.

It was a four bar night.
We started off just gathering forces at the watering hole at which we always gather to drink. I have an absolutely enormous crush on one of the waitresses there.
Then, it was off to the strip club! Whee!!! I did not spend my money responsibly, but I had an awfully good time. So too did the gentleman in whose...

By "dockable", do you mean "hide"? You can just click the little arrow on the very left of the toolbar. (I don't speek much Geek).
If I never hear "Runaway Train" ever again, I will be a happy girl.
I just read the testimonial you left for me. You have a way with words.
I couldn't think of anything to summarize everything I wanted to say to you, which is why you got such a concise testimonial. Had I expanded upon that, I'd have been typing for quite some time and would have hogged much of the space.

Can't sleep. Fuck.
The gf's theory is that I may have disruptive sleep apnea, but we're really not sure. (As far as I'm concerned, Apnea could disrupt my sleep any old time she wanted!) I'm due for a physical, so I'll bring it up to my MD. Every once in a while - and far more often than I'd like, I assure you - I...

And - DogsLife is right, the "Apnea" thing was funny. If not at all Way Too Cheesy.

I wish my AD this summer asked me to punch her. I would have enjoyed that.
Lately, my problem with one theatre company I'm involved with is preciesly that: it feels like home. I need something more professional--comfort and enjoyment needs to come out of creativity, I think.
I'm going to see a play tomorrow with dogslife, and my boys. They (the boys and dogslife) don't see each other often, so I suppose flirting that usually takes place will have to be kept to a minimum. AWWWW...Bummer!

So, here's what's new, my lovelies. At the recommendation of the lovely and talented Sorcha and the lovely and talented dogslife, I've just downloaded Mozilla 1.7. We'll try it out for a while and see how it fits. SG displays properly in it, which it didn't in Opera. And printing out a hard copy of the internet and searching it by hand is preferable...

I really wish that SG displayed properly in Opera. After my IE got wanged the other day I'm doing all my important surfing with Opera now, and everything I check out seems to behave except this site. Ah well. Anybody have any sexy browser recommendations?

Sorcha's gone anonymous. She'd mentioned something about taking some time away from SG a couple of days ago, and I hope this is just a result of that, and not a forced anonymous status that might have something to do with recent drama in the PSW group she heads up.
The creativity thing? Make a cup of tea. Easy. Sit down at computer. Easy. Open up word processor. Easy.
Okay. Now write something. Hemingway.
I too love Mozilla, and have been using it for over two years now as my primary browser.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I wake up at 5:30, drive to work, go to the gym (it's at work). On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I can wake up a whole 15 minutes later, so I can catch the 6:30 train to work, and not go to the gym. This pretty much guarantees I have to be in bed by 10 if I don't want to be cranky in morning.
I hate living in the 'burbs.
