So my ex came over - we try to hang out once a week. She's a little weird on me still calling her my "ex", because we broke up around two years ago, and maybe I'm just a big sentimental idiot, but I want that relationship connotation because I don't think "friend" does justice to our relationship. I don't think we would be as good friends as we are if it wasn't based on years of friendship, caring, and love. We know one another better than anybody else, and we couldn't be where we are without having been where we were. Doesn't mean I want to relive the journey - but hopefully I'm not a freak for wanting to honour it.

That said, it's not like I'm trying to curate the memory of our relationship, and we've both moved on to happy relationships. (So much so that we even survived her first visit to my place now that my place is my girl's place. In a few weeks the tables will turn as I visit the house she'll be sharing with her boyfriend.)

Whatever. Irrelevant backstory.

Tonight, she spoke of her bf's parents being computer illiterate, and were worried the fact that their browser was loading to a new start page meant that they had a virus. She recounted her setting them straight:

"You don't have a virus," she told them. "You may have a spyware."

"What's a spyware?" they asked.

Immediately, I interrupted the story by shouting "TRENCHCOATS!"

And that is why I am awesome.

It is difficult, if not damn near impossible, to live in L.A. without a car. Commuting takes hours as it is. By the subway/buses, it would take forever, and that's if you live and work on the lines.

Once you visit, you'll see what I mean. L.A. is VERY spread out. It's wonderful - don't get me wrong - but you will need your car.

Besides, driving is fun. smile That's what the coast is all about.

It's magical out there. I'm a bit envious.

that was even funnier than your "they hate our freedom" thing while playing WoW.
