1. Still trying to find work since August. NO ONE is hiring. At least they aren't hiring yours truly.
2. Have a bunch of leads on work, keep those digits crossed.
3. Why am I still paying for this when I never use it? Oh yeah... nekkid chicks.
4. I wish I was steam punk. Seriously, they are cool. I would host a steampunk party...

I would definitely go to a steam punk party if I had a steam boat that could take me across the pacific

It's true! I went to one hosted by a lovely lady in the SGLA group. Join that, meet a couple people, and invite away! People will come! People will dress up! People will anachronize!

got to see the SG office cause of work. had to pick up something there. SQUEEE!!! wish i had gotten to look around instead of just going through the front door. SG is an amazing company. I know they have apparently had their problems in the past but my experience with them, as little and as minuscule as it was, was good.

In other news,...

The problem with politics is you feel like no matter who you vote for they inevitably do their own thing once in power. Your's is a noble issue that I haven't really seen addressed this time around. Hopefully it is something the candidates have given some genuine consideration to.

Have fun rehanging your Mallrats poster just right. lol smile

So I heard that while I was at Comic Con they had a lil marvel fashion show. I caught a glimpse of it but ignored it. But it turns out the outfits are going to be for sale soon, and I decided to check them out.

All I can say is cheap cheap cheap CHEAP. I watched the video and seriously, could they have picked...

Condo hunting in LA is hard. Three times now I have found "the one".
First one, rents decided to wait for a bit and it went away just when they realized that YES it was the best investment
Second one, decided it was far too old and would take far too much to repair the little things and would be a money pit and not...

So I work at a place called Blind

I would like to share with you the annoying wrong number/wrong building type things I have gotten

The obvious call I get once a week
"Hi, do you sell blinds?"
"No mam, we do motion graphics"
"How about drapes or other window dressings?"
"Mam, we do not do those, we do commercials and music videos"
"Oh... so...

Ok, let's update the world on me.

Update is a great word and I use it often. Go me.

Ok, so I came home for a few days for some uber medical stuff. Get excited it is NOT cancer!!!!! I feel a lot better knowing that it's not cancer or a variety of other horrible things my symptoms might have lead too.

It turns out...

Thank gods that somebody wants to talk about important shit that has nothing to do with the presidential BS. Several people in my house are politically involved, including their careers, so I get an earful at virtually any conversation with a housemate.
Good for you, all bringing up important issues about the world and it's various citizens. And here I just tend to talk about hamburgers, television, and the horrifically uneven balance between men and women in Los Angeles.

i swear I'll post something hilarious or brill later but right now... where are some good clubs and bars to go to in LA? I wanted to find a place where my gal pal and I could spring for a VIP table/bottle and have a combo birthday bash. I refuse to spend another birthday annoyed and feeing sorry for myself. There will be drinking, there...

i am useless to you in this suggestion endeavour. however, i do hope that you find the right place and have a spectacular time. smile
drdemi:
I think I can provide a couple of suggestions? What part of LA are you looking at? What kind of mood?

For kind of upscale places, I'd suggest Firefly in Studio City, Lolas or the Abby in West Hollywood, or the Standard (just off the strip)

For more relaxed or quirky bars, I'd suggest the Beauty Bar in Hollywood, Musso and Franks, Formosa Cafe' (the last two are more restaurants with bars, but fun for a group), the Three of Clubs, the Dresden Rooms in Los Feliz (can be cheezy, but fun), and Boardners in Hollywood (old 20's bar and fronts a goth club on Saturday nights).

For a more SG experience, its hard to beat Jumbo's clown room on Hollywood Blvd in Thai Town, El Carmen (Mexican wrestler-themed bar) in the Fairfax district, or the Bigfoot Lodge in Los Feliz.

Good luck and happy birthday!
