When a set for SG is shot, not that many people will ever see you naked.
The photographer. A makeup person. A hair person. Maybe some friends along for moral support.
But that's it.
Everyone else see PICTURES of you naked. A singular representation of a moment (or moments) frozen in time. A telling of a story, the regaling of a tale. Acting for an audience as yet unknown, alone in a reverie.
I've seen a lot of photos in my time here. I intend to see a lot more before my time is past.. I do not claim any technical knowledge of photography. I do, however, claim an intimate knowledge of the qualities that I always find and admire in my favorite photographs.
My favorite photographs are those that make the viewer a part of the story. An unknown, yet somehow comforting and welcome voyeur. "I'm getting naked just for you". You know it's not true, but the allure of the moment pulls you in. This is your little secret. A little slice of paradise. In a short time it's over. But it can be relived again and again.
I've also been a fan of nude photography, for as long as I can remember, in situations where the nudity is unexpected, where it wouldn't ordinarily belong. "Here I am alone in a museum. Guess I'll take all my clothes off". The situational contradictions can make for very intriguing photographs. Why here? Why now? Ultimately the answer is, 'Who cares? I'm just glad they're here".
On a personal note: In those Cialis commercials. Why do you need the bathtubs? And if you're going to be having sex, wouldn't you only need one? And how do they get those heavy fuckers up there anyway?
Oh well. More shit to ponder until we meet again
