Howdy Folks,

Seeing as how I haven't posted anything recently, I thought I would give it a ago again. Besides, I have found that some groups that I would like to join require recent blog posts, pictures, and other assorted goodies before accepting submissions. I can respect that. I guess it helps keep out riff-raff, but so far, I think the SG community is pretty great and accepting of all kinds of people. For example, I can't be the only guy on this site that has no piercings or tatoos (and don't plan on getting any), but I appreciate the female form, tattos, piercings, or not. Also nice to see groups for BBW and big cuddly boys, seeing as how I am a rather big guy myself. I think some of the groups require profile pics of myself, so I am seeing if I can find pics. It is kinda hard seeing as I'm camera-shy (among the other type of shy) so the pics probably will be few and far between.

I also have to update my profile, because I am no longer a student. Well, actually, you could say I am a student of life (a lifelong learner, if you will), but I graduated about 6 months ago with my second bachelor's degree in Game Development. There actually was one guy I wrote on here many months ago. He said he had worked on World at War, which means he was working at Treyarch. I sent the guy a nice message asking about the experience and showing a real interest in what they were doing. I wanted to hear about the industry from a guy who is there. Guess what? No response. And that has been what it has been like for the past 6 months as I search for a game position. Sending out resumes to countless game companies trying to get positions, and getting little or no response. Having to look to local places for work now, seeing as all my loans will have to be repaid very soon. I really had my heart set on working for Insomniac Games. They have been rated one of the best game companies to work for, and I believe they have a studio in Burbank, CA. I don't really want to live in California. Being from a small town in KY, I can't imagine living in Cali, where I'm guessing the crime rate is higher than here, and threatens to fall into the ocean one day when the big earthquake one day hits. No, I was interested in working at the new studio they are planning to open in North Carolina.

I'm going to ask for help from the SG community. If anybody knows anyone in the game industry (other than that one treyarch employee) that can offer insight into how to get in, send them my way. What I'm seeing is that most places require industry experience (i.e. a shipped title) to be considered, but if you are just coming out of school, then what are you supposed to do? It tends to be an industry that is just like any other industry, where it is sometimes more about who you know and less about what you know, ya know smile

I also want to give mad props to the (at today's count, 4) friends that I have on my friends list for not deleting me. I think I had more at one time. Definitely mad props to miss Clio. She is so sexy and is the hottest vampire I've ever seen. I wrote her a message once, and she did the most amazing thing: she actually replied! She seems very kind and is really into music, and I'm all about checking out new bands I've never heard of before. Joined the site for Ember, stayed for ladies like Clio. Give her and her sets some love if you haven't already.

And with that note, I'm off to scrounge up photos and stuff. More posts later. Same bat time, same bat channel!
