Love to have a kitty. Not sure how you would get it here though!!

Don't ask about the smoking thing. Went out with a bunch of people from SG group and smoked galore. Today is a new day though. Spirits are still high. Have a great day! smile

Back from the AR conference. Was fabu seein' ol' pals. Seven talks is a bit too many tho' methinks. By the time it was done, *I* was tired of hearing myself talk...

The Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner in Vienna, VA overcharged me $476 freaking bucks. Don't go there!

Overall tho' ... 'tis nice t' be home.

How're you?

Rough day yesterday. My best friend Kym's 12-year-old doggie, Perdie aka. Mama Merd, went into heart failure late in the afternoon. They went to the vet and after treatment it looked like the worst was over, her condition stabilized and they went home. My partner, Catherine, and I went over to Kym's to sit with them and have dinner.

Things got worse.

We eventually had...

Awww. Poor doggie. frown I lost my Sammy cat last Veteran's Day to cancer. Losing a pet is like losing any other family member or close friend. It's sucky.

As I mentioned in my journal, my mom loved that book as well. And I loved it, too. When I was a teenager, I went to a Unitarian Universalist queer get-together with my youth group. I met a lot of middlesex/transgendered people. They were all so nice.

I kind of miss going to church. Yeah, I was agnostic even then, but I don't remember anyone ever discussing God. Not even during the sermons.
tigerlily:
oh wow...that's so hard...your friend must be a wreck. i've put down several pets...there isn't anything worse.

but there's also something so magical and sweet about being there at the threshold of death when someone that you love crosses over it...it's where we're all headed.

i'm glad you could be there for her.

Stupid people make me nuts!

Yesterday, I organized a demonstration at the Korean consulate re: the consumption of dogs and cats as food.

Overall, I was very pleased with the way the event turned out. At its zenith, we had about a dozen people. GREAT for the middle of the day on Tuesday.

I ended up giving media interviews to:

Glad to see that someone shares my dislike of stupid people. I'd say most children know that Korea and China are different countries. Sad that a reporter doesn't...

And thanks for the email; it made me smile.

Thank you for doing such good and important work. The thought of any animal being abused or butchered disturbs and sickens me.

I am seldom amazed any more by shows of stupidity. It just happens SO damn regularly, ya know? whatever
