I could (and actually am) listen to Regina Spektor all day. The most beautiful voice and the most brilliant lyrical rhythm.

Great poet, great pipes, great thinker.

This whole album (Far) is fabulous and I'd recommend it to anyone having a bit of a melancholy end to the week.

Using your headphones to drown out your mind is me about now.

@memorandom depends on the music though haha. I've been trying to get to see GSYBE for a couple years and it's always at seated venues. That'd be fine. Sit down, chill out, close my eyes. But I saw Volbeat in Amsterdam last year stood up in the stands and it was just weird haha.
memorandom:
Yeah, I've never been into standing at gigs - part of that is admittedly being bloody short - there's nothing worse than going to a concert and having to stand on your tiptoes to see the bloody show because some 6' plonker is in front of you.

PSA: if you're not Polish and you've got a Polish grocery store near you, it's quite possible you never really go in or you just pop in for the odd Zubr or Tyskie and don't touch anything else.

Do yourself a favour next time you're by, go in and pick up some of these - Jezyki (hedgehog, it's kinda cute and appropriate when you look

@memorandom you'll have no argument from me. Thing I love the most about Leicester is the wide variety of global culture on my doorstep. Love the enormous amount of food and drink from all corners of the world here.

Damn, just when I started cutting down on snacky cakes.

If I had pipes like Idina Menzel, I'd sing literally everything. Everything. Ordering a bagel with a bit of vibrato would brighten up every Monday morning.

"Any hot drinks with that?"

Those are proper teuchter accents, too. Scottish accents are weird, though. I mean there are nice Scottish accents - the kind James McAvoy, Peter Capaldi etc have - and then  there's everyone else who drop half their consonants to the point of illegibility. I remember coming back from the times I lived abroad and even I couldn't understand what people were saying.

@memorandom I showed a Polish colleague a video of Kevin Bridges the other day and I literally had to translate, it was superb.

I went through a very dark period in the late summer last year, I got very ill. During the time I was away from work I sat and binged through all three series of the Leftovers.

It was phenomenal, I haven't been so heavily impacted by a series in ages. I love it. I was very susceptible to the mood and the style of the

Never heard of it, but I guess it'll have to go on my list now.

Yeah, I would watch pretty much anything with Carrie Coon in. She was great in the last season of Fargo too.

Oh Cedric, Omar, you guys and your beautiful, crazy hair.

What a fucking magical album this is. Definitely comes under the category of "albums you haven't listened to in ages then when you do, you wonder why you haven't listened to them in ages."

I honestly can't think of a song on here that's not sensational. I heralded Molko as a great poet the other

@memorandom has it gone down hill or are we just getting older? Haha. I wonder if people in their early twenties now will say THIS was the era for music.
memorandom:
I think there's a degree of nostalgia involved, it's just weird to have reached a point where I'm the one saying "modern music is just noise" and not one of my parents. . . Yeah, definitely getting old. Or already there.

Pardon a European socialist for questioning how you run your country but how do you have 18 school shootings in some six weeks and not address your gun laws?

I don't get it. I really fucking don't.

Condolences with anyone that's lost friends or family to any mass shooting. Completely avoidable.

I mean, that's assuming it wasn't James Corden or Piers Morgan.

I don't care what's between your legs, if you didn't have an awkward mid 90s to early 00s crush on Brian Molko then I don't even know what you were doing with your life.

Possibly one of the most under rated poets of his generation, I frequently forget when I come back to listening to Placebo (I just chucked on the Self Titled album for

@memorandom my immediate reaction to that was to feel old. Naturally. Then I remembered you've got a few years on me and I wound my neck in 😉

Yeah, some days I look in the mirror and it's not my Dad looking back at me, it's my bloody Grandad.
