Happy day after Halloween everyone, or the best day to go shopping at Target. Normally, October is my favorite month of the year. However, with all the other things that have been going on in my life, I haven't been able to enjoy the season much.

Yesterday was a pretty good day though. I finally got my braces off (for the second time) after 14

Salutations ya'll

It's been a very rough month for me. After years of declining health and constant care, my mother died at the age of 56. She was far too young to leave our family but we're at peace knowing she's no longer suffering. We'd been at the hospital for the past 3 weeks and I didn't feel like doing anything other than sleeping and...

I am sorry for you loss. Hopefully I run into you if I go to the show.
mikiztli:
So sorry for your loss! You sound at peace and I admire you for that.  Today we went to visit my wife's granny. It's definitely sad to see someone's health declining little by little...

/sigh. Not much to report on. Life goes on but nothing all that exciting. Adulthood is boring. I feel kind of odd not going back to school. Part of me wishes I was; this feeling of not accomplishing anything drives me bat shit. My feelings of self worth are derived from constantly being busy and feeling like I'm actually doing something.

Got some dreaded news...

don't be so down on yourself! I've been in an uneventful runt for a bit myself and I find reading, painting/doodling and going out and speaking to atleast one stranger is pretty gratifying in itself. sorry to hear about your braces. they drove me crazy too, so much that I ended up removing them myself. hope things look up for you soon love! kisskisskiss
soraleia:
Hahaha, you know, the thought crossed my mind about taking them off myself. With my luck, I'd end up losing a tooth with it too.

Thanks for the pep talk Bee <3

Go for it! A Totoro set would definitely make you stand out, rightfully, from the crowd.

Not much going on...Summer is coming to end an pretty quick but I'm not going back to school this fall (thank goodness) so summer doesn't seem like a big deal anymore. Nothing real exciting on the horizon so I just keep trucking on..

Actual good news, after 6 months or so of flying solo and many unsuccessful dating situations, I found a genuinely good guy....

Another weekend of Comic Con has come and gone. Hooray, I actually got to go inside the Convention center this year thanks to some friends! I don't think I've been in since 2009, so needless to say I went into overload. I didn't get to see any panels which was a bummer (no more Dexter, ever again) but it was definitely better than no Comic...

Woo! Saturday was new tattoo day!! I'd been looking forward to this one since before my trip. It was basically the reason why I was looking forward to coming home. I went to the same place where I got my back piece. The shop is kind of a pain in the ass (they randomly cancelled my initial appointment) but I love the artist so I...

Well, after....I don't know how many hours on an airplane between Monday and Tuesday...I'm finally home! It's so good to be back here.

Israel was an interesting place to visit. Hanging out with almost 50 Jews for 10 days was definitely an experience I'm not used to. Overall, the itinerary gave a pretty good taste of the country. We started off exploring Jerusalem, after a...

I wouldn't say being female necessarily affected the trip. We were in such a large group (nearly 50 people total) that there was no way not to blend in. Frankly, the thought never even occurred to me! I think if I was traveling solo or just with another individual, I might feel differently. It's still the Middle East and I felt like there were plenty of other signs that women are treated like second class citizens.

Yea, this was definitely an interesting look into another world. My only other travels outside the U.S. was Japan and shit, that place was better than here! It did make me feel somewhat grateful to come from the States after visiting there, I'll say that.

Glad I went, definitely happy to be home though.
