If the world really does end in 2012, I'm screwed. I dunno if I can get all the tattoos I want by then.
For a while I've had this grand idea to get a huge dragon on my back, possibly based on a painting I found online. However, as much as I like dragons, and although they are traditional in the tattoo world, I'm starting to think that getting one is a bit cliche. Plus, I'm really picky about how I would want mine to look, and I haven't been able to find any decent reference pictures. I'm not going for the Asian style--they look awesome but everyone and their dog has that style of dragon. I like the Western type (the "bad" dragons) but I can't find a good picture, and I suck at explaining things. So, I think I'll put this idea on the back burner for now.
I've picked out a font for my 2nd, which is the Beatles' lyric "turn off your mind relax and float downstream" from the song Tomorrow Never Knows. I was pretty bent on getting this next, on my upper back in the center, but suddenly I have been wrought with a new idea...
A Doctor Who tat.
I really want to get the fob watch done, or at least the design off of it, along with a quote maybe. I really like "He's like fire and ice and rage....and he's wonderful." I can't remember the whole thing right now. Anyways now I kinda want that on my upper back. I still have a lot of room all over my body but I like specific placement. I don't ever want to have a new tattoo and be forced to say "Uh, I think I have some space (here). Put it there."
Just some thoughts. It's 5 am and I haven't been able to sleep.

I also had a rough time with picking the perfect shape for my ink... the best thing you can do is start talking to artists about it... show them your reference picture and then describe--to the best of your abilities--what you want to change and what you want the end result to be. The more you talk about it and have people respond (correctly or not) to what you want, the more capable you'll be at describing and knowing what you want.
The second one sounds lovely.
