I think I've decided...eventually I'm going to get some dermals (sub, micro, whatever they're called). Probably under my collar bone. I think 4 would be a good number, 2 on each side, but I'll probably just start with 2 total and then go back and get the other 2.
I really want a facial piercing but I've realized that I would have a problem with all of the ones I would actually want to get. First off, if I get my nostril done, I'm probably going to have problems due to my massive allergy attacks during the spring and summer. I don't want my nose getting any more complicated than it already is. I highly doubt I could get my eyebrow pierced without it getting infected because I touch that area of my face all the time, plus I tend to sleep at odd angles that would irritate an eyebrow piercing (or an anti-eyebrow for that matter). I never really thought to get my lips done because I was in band for several years, and of course having a lip piercing is absurd if you play a wind instrument. But that got me to thinking, I don't play much now that I'm in college, so maybe I should just get my lip pierced. Then again I would still like to be able to pick up my sax and play it if I wanted. So I thought a simple piercing on the side would be ok. Maybe I could still play if I just had a stud in. But then another issue comes up...gum erosion. I had braces for, let me think, 5 years? My gums are already thin. I've already had two bouts of surgery to try to fix it. And my gums are especially bad where the jewelry would hit. Of course I could get a vertical labret that doesn't do inside my mouth at all, but that brings me back to the problem of not being able to pick up my instruments. Ergo, no facial piercings for me.
I did however, just today, run into a pic of one of the SGs (I forget which one) who had a vertical labret on the side of her lip. I haven't looked into this one much but that might be my ticket out of this conundrum.
