What a day.
Was up last night knitting until around 2:30 a.m. Then the ex-boy called and we talked until around 5 a.m. I'm amazed by how much we have to say to each other, considering we just broke up.
Went to work. Gave notice to boss lady. She completely disregarded my resignation and continued talking to me as if I hadn't just told her that I'm starting a new job, but will finish out my week at the bar. LOL. I couldn't believe it. She goes on talking about, "I'm leaving early on Christmas Day, so you can come in at 4p.m. And then on New Year's Eve we are having a party and you and I will work together". I start telling her that I'm not considering keeping any shifts and she says, "Well, you can at least work Saturdays. If you don't work here consistently, you'll lose your following".
ROTFLMAO. Such gall! I QUIT!! I don't need a following!!!
I even went out of my way to find her another bartender. I'm even going to train this girl. WHAT??? That is waaay over and beyond my call of duty. Jeez.. give someone an inch....
I visited a music school today and signed up for training with a vocal coach. I also signed up for a beginning electric guitar course because I've developed a fear of mine. It's gotten to the point where I won't even pick it up. Even when someone else picks up my guitar I take a few steps back and am still flinching at it for fear a string is going to fly off and attack me. LOL. I'm much more comfortable with an acoustic, but this fear of my electric guitar has gotten out of hand. I told the instructor at the school about it, and he just kinda smiled at me and told me to bring it in so he could "look" at it.
I met some skunks today. Oh, they were so beautiful! I was walking by this fence and I heard a rustling in the brush beyond it. I looked up and there were these skunks peering at me!! I waved at them and said hello. The came closer to the fence and kinda stared at me. So, I take a few steps back and start talking to them. A couple men were walking towards me on the sidewalk giving me a curious look. So I explained that there were skunks. They went towards the fence to peer at them, and the little guys took off running.
I'd never had an encounter like that with skunks before. They're so cute! Kinda like big ferret-like cats or something. I wish they were pettable.
I should go knit.

When I tighten and tune guitar strings, I always remember stories I've been told about lacerations from wild broken strings or eyeball injuries. I share your fear.
