My first pro cook for someone else.

As some of you may know... I've been getting really into cooking advanced stuff lately. So last Wednesday, I had an appointment with a friend of mine at Wageningen University to cook for them. We'd been talking for about a year and suddenly, in the course of two weeks, the idea grew and there it was. So what exactly did I cook? I'll show you.

I started off with a niçoise salad. Key elements are quail eggs, anchovy fillets, and fennel, along with other vegetables. This is what it looked like.

Following the salad, I made the quite successful lamb skewers. Following my success at home, I served it with a piece of grilled lettuce and a side of ratatouille. The only thing she did not like was the wine, which was totally fine with me because I'm not not a sommelier. I'll be using wooden skewers next time, though, since the heat transfers through the metal and cooks the lamb inside out! Luckily I was prepared for this since I already made it at home, or this dish wouldn't have been so good.

For dessert, I brought a pot of white chocolate soup to go along with her choice of berries. Since she does not like mango or blueberries (shame!), we had chocolate covered strawberries and it was absolutely fantastic. We finished the evening with a screening of Deadpool and a long talk before my realizing it was already ten past eleven and I had to work the next day (it's an hour long drive). All in all it was a perfect night out for me and I'd love to continue this lifestyle, cooking for people at home. So if any of my loyal followers would enjoy a somewhat professionally cooked meal... don't be afraid to message me!
