Tommorrow i have to transport a rather large chocolate cake to another town for a friends bridal shower party...

this could be a comedy of errors if i'm not careful!

I woke up this morning to chocolate seashells in my kitchen surreal
Dorwayin was requested to do a seashell or sea themed kind of cake....

I did not eat the chocolate ganache...
and for this, my...

It went remarkably well, exceeding our goals and expectations. There are pictures here.

Thank you

I need to remember: never start watching a film when tired. I can sometimes stay up just enough to make it seem like I'm awake, but I don't recall a thing from the film.

Had a great time this weekend!

Friday i took the train in to meet up with Holagatita to have some dinner and take in a movie...
Dined on some indian cuisine and then saw a documentary called "El immigrante", which was good but not great. A little slow at certain points, and it didn't help that the theater felt like a sauna, and my legs...

They have her on derramax.

They gave us a trial of it a few weeks ago, and it really seemed to work. We had about a week though inbetween the trial and when we officially "put her on it", and since then it hasn't seemed to do squat.

I honestly don't think we're at the putting down stage.

For instance, this morning, when I got her up to go outside, she laid down in a couple of spots and got herself back up again.

But then she shat herself again last night.

Errr. Don't know what to do.
jacksalt:
Yeah, we've had a lot of pet death in our history. Cats, ferrets, dogs, you name it. And they DO let you know. I don't feel like shes saying that yet.

And I think there's something else too. I think it might be one of her fatty tumours strating to impact her spine/hips/major nerves.
Something like that.

And we get to see our fav doctor this morning.

I'll be doing this amazing feat stone...

Shelly gets all social....
Her Grade?
A C plus at best.

Saturday night i did the unthinkable, i stepped out of my house for a night of fine dining and drinking.
Headed over to Coriander, the restaurant where Dorwayin inhabits as pastry chef. There i got to meet up with Alyk, Smuffy, JoshXXX, negative and his lovely GF. They were such great company! I cannot...

"Life is sweet" is wonderful and I don't think you have mentioned it before, but then my memory is just as bad and you might have!!.... is this how two goldfish would talk ?!
surlymike:
I'm not sure. For what it's worth, I'm armed with her phone number, but, seeing as I'm not sure of what the schedule will be Saturday morning to Sunday morning, I couldn't make plans for sure.

In Playboy this month..John Waters does a top ten film book review.
Here's one of my favorites

"Detour" by Cheryl Crane with Cliff Jahr.
Hollywood's most notorious 1950's juvenile delinquent (and Lana Turner's daughter) grows up and becomes a really cool lesbian with a great sense of humor. Oh yeah, she killed her mom's abusive boyfriend too, but he deserved it. biggrin

What would Hollywood be...

With you there.

There are times I think that Regan and I would be total hermits if we could be. What I like best about the weekend is being home, doing stuff in and about our house, seeing no one and talking to nobody but her.

Sounds awful, and I don't mean that i don't like to go out and do things, cuz i do, but I love our quiet weekends alone at home.

It is truly wonderful to have a spouse that understands and appreciates that. Of course, if they didn't- would they be your spouse? wink

And yes, as usual, we are on the same page. tongue

Hi Shelly! Sorry so long to respond, I've been staying off the computer a bit! It doesn't surprise me that Roger Ebert liked Santa Sangre, he is one of my idols! smile I don't always agree with his reviews, but I think he's a very fair-minded reviewer and there's no denying his love of film. I agree with you completely about SS, it was definitely beautiful and horrific at the same time, and I loved the ending too, where you realize he's been all alone through all of it and his reconnection with Alma is so great.
As for Brick, I was glad I saw it and it had some really excellent scenes in it, but overall I don't think it worked as well as it should have. I was worried that the bar had been set too high for me for "Southern California high school teen film noir" by Veronica Mars (my absolute favorite show on tv right now), but Mike was in agreement. Veronica Mars kicks ass though and if you had Netflix I would STRONGLY encourage you to rent it. I think you might enjoy Brick, but I also think you would feel the same way Mike and I did. It's one of those films that had the potential to be really awesome, but fell short.
How was dinner last night? Did you guys have fun? I hope you took photos that you will then share with the rest of us! smile
Hope you have a great day! Any special plans for Easter? My mom came up and Henna'ed my hair and then we planted some petunias and now I'm going to go watch Lost & Gilmore Girls that I taped during the week.
Talk to you later!

Oh my god, I love Pho Republique.

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to get around the city. Everything changes on a weekly basis, new roads, new tunnels. Very weird. I haven't driven my car since last November, it's just too frustrating.
abarat:
Hey, we and I finally got Semjaza to put some more of his material up. Yay! And I doubt very much that there will be an open bar! They're both in they're late 20's trying to save money, probably buy a house nowhere near here cause that's impossible unless you have a money tree in your backyard! So, I'll be paying for the booze which is no problem really cause I weigh 100 lbs. and my friends will attest to my getting trashed off of two strong melon balls a year or two ago. It was ugly. It was at an Italian club where I had to tell the guy at the bar how to make a melon ball. He hald the vodka over the glass for what seemed like an eternity! Then a lil bit of Midori and o.j. After two of these ,I was carried out of the club after puking in the bathroom and out into my car where two of my friends had to take me homein my own car and have my older sis drive them back,....eeeew, bad memories. I have done nothing like that since. It was Oct. 04. Yuck. Nothing goes right for me ever. Got any hot brothers? biggrin

Today was a very untypical day for Shelly....
I got off my fat ass, stepped away from the computer and televison...
and Dorwayin and I went to the park and engaged in physical activity!
This included rock climbing...well...almost.
Rollerskating ( though no Xanadu soundtrack in the background, but i still rock the backwards skate)
a little nature walk, and some disrobing along the way because...

Thanks, though I'm not sure about "gifted".

I took a leaf out of your book yesterday and spent the whole day cycling through a forest. Hooray for un-needed bouts of physical exertion! Ouch I'm saddle-sore today though- I'm out of practice!

I like the idea of love poems to objects.

Peter Ackroyd has written a biography of London. I like this similarly.

I REALLY relax my vegan/veggie standards when on vacation. I had to reevaluate after eating only french fries, fruit, baguettes and Italian food for a week in Paris. smile
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty busy, it went by awfully quick. Oh, and I watched The Squid & The Whale on Friday night, but I didn't really care for it that much. That could have been the PMS though. smile
I'm going to go see Slither tomorrow night, and then Mike and I are going for dinner at Wayward, they are having a fund raiser for political prisoners and we get to enjoy a 5 course Mexican meal and help out all at the same time. smile
Oh, and I bought our tickets yesterday for the festival, so we are all set!
