I am very lost on the religious.. They baffle me. There is a person I, without apparent reason, am friends with on FB who is constantly posting religious material. Now I try to be open and respectful to people who are religious but it can be extremely hard when I continually see uneducated accusations and 'apocalyptic' predictions based on our sin.. Recently, our sexual sin.
For one thing sex can be beautiful and in most cases it is.. Also it is an innate, subconscious need to reproduce even if in the end there is just a *happy* ending. I'm still lost on the 'sin' aspect of sex, I realize that rape, molestation, etc. are, if there is such a thing as sin, are such. Regardless of religious aspect they are terrible, unmentionable acts. Those aren't what I am talking about.. I imagine sexual lust towards either the same sex or opposite sex is what they are talking about? Or.. cheating? Which is strictly a societal hindrance, our society has developed an outlook on marriage\relationships as being strictly monogamous. That isn't fair to say that couples that have polygamous or poly-amorous relationships are 'sinners.' They are obviously happy and enjoying their significant other's company they just instead of secretly acting on their innate lust to others they are open and comfortable with it, creating an equal relationship.
How could a god chastise us, who we are supposedly made in their image, when if in that case god must have boners\gets a little misty? If god does exist, he\she gave us this lust and need for sexual and emotional companionship.. I myself am monogamous in my relationship, but am entirely open about talking about 'hot guys' or vice versa. In fact I'd be open to having a polygamous relationship, but I'd be strictly emotionally attached to my significant other.. Just 'pleasing' my obvious subconscious need to have sex.
It is natural, not a 'sin.' It is a way for the human race to pass on genes in the hopes to improve the human race as a whole.. All creatures do this, it is evolution.
