I live a pretty easygoing life. I work full-time as a server, which is super stressful and draining. Our restaurant is pretty middle-class, we do lots of vegan or vegetarian options. One day I had a woman start bawling on me, because there was pulled pork on her veggie burger and she hadn't eaten meat in 20 years. Thanks kitchen staff! Not only do we have to deal with rude, ungrateful customers, but also rude people in back of house. I wouldn't suggest this job to anyone. Yes, the tips are nice in the summertime, but as soon as winter comes you're struggling to make ends meet. You meet some amazing people, and you get to know "the regulars". Some of them are super nice, and some are total assholes! I work about 7-8 hours a day, I'm always on my feet and I'm always extremely tired. This is a super high demand job. It's hard when you have to take care of people all day at work, then try to take care of yourself and/or others as well. Don't even get me started on housework, cause after a long day at work that's the last thing I want to be doing. I have a love/hate relationship with my job. The constant cash is nice, your coworkers become your work family. (Although I'm not as close with some as I am with others). I'm lucky and got two of the best bosses out there, and they do so much for all of us. At the end of the day, as long as it pays the bills, I stay.

I was a server for a long time ( i have worked both front and back of the house). Serving is a calling. I can remember so many people cycling through thinking that they were going to make big bucks and couldnt connect with people nor read people. Alot of respect for you.

I love most of my job. Mostly my coworkers! Its more about my mental health than making big bucks at this point! Im constantly told how good I am at my job but just because I'm good at it doesn't mean I want to hahah & thanks you too I know back of house can be just as stressful!
