All of those sound epic.  I think the least appealing is chicago to new Orleans, but I have no clue honestly. I guess what I should say is, dang dude - I'm impressed!

Gadget: See for the chicago to NOLA run, first you bear west out the city on 64 till you almost get to the river just to grab a bite at poopys before you chase the river down to just north of Hannibal (birth place of Mark Twain) where of course you get some coffee in you. after Hannibal you meander down into STL for lunch. Now you have to grind hard to hit memphis for supper and a nice hotel (normally i'd run hard to make it in 1 shot but thats not the poing of this wandering). in the morning start with some breakfast and java before running the superslab to cold water or batesville after that follow 35 on down the drain

My feelings regarding moving for work: equal parts optimism and WTF am I thinking. In other news i'm moving 2 USDA tree hardiness zones north of chicago for an indeterminate period of time. I need to get a couple new tattoos before hitting the road. also i need more coffee and beer or beer with coffee
