Haven't been on here in forever. Life is good, mostly. Swampscott is still nice. Most weekends we're out and about, but I'm spending this Friday night rearranging my living room and thoroughly enjoying it. Al's at National Guard weekend and having a little space and time completely to myself is lovely. I'm pretty sure that all that time and space is going to feel very...

Four months? I'd hate that so much. What cereal is your preference for dinner?

I'll keep that in mind, although I have little connections in that world.
reina_confundida:
Yeah, I am not excited about the 4 months. I mostly try not to think about it, because I get a little teary-eyed when I do. There's a good chance that he'll be deployed overseas for a year not too long after he gets back. I can't even wrap my mind around the idea of a year apart, so I try not to!

The cheap-ass bran flakes from Shaw's. Sometimes Maple-Frosted Shredded Wheat. But mostly the bran flakes. I don't know what it is about them. But they're cheap and delicious!

I just pulled off a minor design miracle. Now to pull off a major housecleaning and showering miracle before I have to drive to Logan to pick up my dad for my sister's wedding.

eeek ARRR!!! bok
tiger_fodder:
Ooooh. I knew you were miraculous! wink

I'm practicing an insane form of procrastination. I need to build a small website... before noon. It's already been designed... and I've had like two months to build it... I just don't really want to. Pout!

Al's back in CT working a siding job. The quiet has gotten more bearable, but still, I miss him. So do the cats.

miao!! miao!! kiss

oy vey. i hope my ten zillion profile edits didn't just flood everyone's "updates" lists... SG still needs to work on some of that there UI, methinks.
tiger_fodder:
I have it turned off. I will go look for the changes. How is this hot weather treating you?

Getting up early to go to the gym before work was so much easier when work was 5 feet from my bed and started at 10....ish.

(I did manage to go after work last night. Minor miracle.)
tiger_fodder:
Soon you'll be very used to it!

Edited to add the interesting part in the beginning (you might as well skip the rest, really): I'm losing weight, but my boobs are getting noticeably bigger and firmer. Wha??? Has anyone ever heard of this insanity? I know what you're thinking... but the pregnancy test said "nay." I'm not complaining, believe me, but it's very weird...

So, anyway.

Tired. Very, very tired. Going back...

That is weird. Are you doing a lot of lifting so your chest muscles are getting firmer under your breasts? Yeah...I have no idea.

So, just to make things a little more exciting... I'm also moving to Swampscott on August 1. Surprise! It was a surprise to me, anyway. We went to look at a crappy little house for rent in North Salem, and the realtor said, "Oh, I've got a really nice apartment for rent in Swampscott." So we looked. And it's a lovely little gem of a...

On July 7th, I'll have a full-time job as the Manager of Creative Services for a financial software company in Portsmouth, NH.

Thank god.

Aside from that, life is, as always, complicated. But mostly good.

Believe it or not, no, actually, at least not for the moment. The commute is only 45 minutes driving, and has virtually no traffic -- I figure, hell, it takes me 30 minutes to get to Trader Joe's in Saugus already -- what's another 15 minutes? (And it took me an hour and a quarter or more to get to downtown Boston via train, so 45 minute feels like nothing.)

I like NH, and wouldn't be opposed to moving there, but my boyfriend just joined the MA National Guard, so we have to stay in state at least for the moment. We are moving in September, though, to a bigger place -- flip-flopping between staying in Salem vs. moving to the Diamond District Lynn/Swampscott border.
tiger_fodder:
Congratulations. smile

NH is not so bad. "Live Free or Die" and all. wink

I'm cold, I'm tired, and I really, really, really want something resembling real summer to frickin' get here already. Sigh.

In the last week or so I quit smoking, ran 5k for the first time in forever, hiked 12 miles, got an interview with a very boring but lucrative software company in NH, congratulated my bf on officially joining the National Guard, wore the shortest...

You are one busy lady. I commend you!

Congrats on quitting smoking--I fell off the wagon a few weeks back and am back to trying to stop again. By the way, I think it just started snowing in Salem. What the hell is going on out there.

So apparently things got even more, um, "hip" after I fled the AT thing the other night. Thank god. I might've ended up starting the first ever bar fight at that place if I stayed. Know thyself and all that. You made the right call skipping it.

My mind is bouncing off the walls like silly putty on crack.

But for the moment, a happy thought:

Um.... yum. I will always be an illustrator at heart, after devoting four years of my life and a lot of money to the study of it. I love doing it, and I loooooooooove looking at it. Give me a children's book over most museums...

Things have been better. No, we didn't talk about it... honestly, trying to get him to talk about what he did 5 minutes ago is challenging enough. But it's been better.

One way or another, I'm in love with the smart handsome goofy man much more than I thought possible. In such an easy way... this doesn't feel hard. I know hard will come, but...
