Happy freakin new years.
-------
January 1, 2003
The rain comes and softens the ground.
The wind rips open doors
And rips apart hearts
Like crumpled paper valentines.
My feet are caked with mud
The grass is wet
Just like your stain left on my sheet
From the last time.
Do you remember?
Its now washed away--
I breath in
But I only draw nicotine and cold
Empty.
Your scent is gone.
The thunder used to remind me of togetherness
In warm beds in cold rooms,
Of gentle caresses and happy tears and content rest.
Now, it only rattles the emptiness of my bedroom.
