Welcome to my first entry.
Well, I came home from work yesterday to find a double-case of Guinness deposited at my doorstep, apparently courtesy of my mother for New Years. It's pretty nice of her, considering that she and my father are both pretty straight-laced Baptists.
So here I am at 7 pm. on New Year's Eve, drinking in an empty house. I'm going to a friend's party later on tonight, but I'm not looking forward to it. I'm not too much into New Year's celebrations, especially this year. I hate to say goodbye to 2002-- it's been one of the happiest rotations 'round the sun of my life, and thus far 2003 seems to offer little. I'm so god-damn sentimental these days. The person I love more than any other is in a different time zone -- where she's been for the past 4 months -- so it's hard for me to share the new year's moment with her. I plan to feel extremely bitter when everyone is kissing everyone else.
I feel like I've been intentionally trying to drag myself into a pit for the past few weeks. Hell, I've purposefully put the Smiths back into my regular rotation of music. I guess at this point, the hurt is just about all I have left of the relationship with my Other, so it's just about all I have to hold onto.
