Anyone else follow SG on facebook? As of late I've come across countless comments on the classic as well as the new daily sets complaining that the girls aren't up to peoples expectation of what a suicide girl should be...it baffles me..."she has no piercings!" "she has no ink!" "she looks so...normal!" -they all want "different" How can anyone be so pretentious as to think their definition of "different" is the correct one. -It brings to mind a bumper-sticker slogan I once saw that has always stuck with me. It said "I'm unique, just like everyone else." It seems obvious to me that a lot of what was once considered "alt" "punk" "emo" or "goth" has been absorbed into mainstream society and much has become the "norm" -hell, even Nirvana got pop-station air-time...What I just wish they understood (from my understanding of it anyway) is that Suicide Girls is a celebration of beauty and expression...as well as exhibition. Even the girls that are "plain" or "normal" would never be seen in the pages of playboy or hustler, or even in something as vanilla as cosmo, they dont fit the mold; too short, boobs too small, waist too big, you have a TATTOO?! oh no!
THATS the point! Not who has the most ink, not who has the most outrageous hair color or body mods...it's the fact that someone who would be considered not up to par by the majority of societies rigid physical appearance standards has an outlet and an opportunity to be able to feel beautiful in her own skin, to feel appreciated and desired and still remain true to herself! Anyone viewing a set is also given the chance to see an actual person, get a glimpse of their personality, be invited into their id for a minute...and should appreciate that.
I'm grateful that suicide girls exists, and i'm happy to part with my hard-earned membership fees. It reminds me that I'm not alone. I'm not the only weirdo with an unhealthy obsession with Hello Kitty, that my piercings and tattoos are beautiful and sexy no matter how many off-color looks i may get at fancy restaurants, and that there is no reason anyone should ever change who they are or want to be to live up to ANYONE'S expectations.

I LOVE YOU.
I dont have any tattoos and one piercing, it's really been worrying what people are going to say when it goes up for member review.
You just made my day.
love
