...a photographer friend of mine has recently come under scrutiny for editing his work, with photoshop, to make his models "more beautiful". as a student of art and graphic design, i completely understand the need to refine and make alterations as necessary. what i wonder, though, is how far becomes too far? it's understandable that one might blur out blemishes or adjust lighting or color to change the mood of the image...but does it become a different situation entirely when whats being changed is a models waist size, her cup size, the shape of her nose or the fullness of her lips?

His final images ARE beautiful, but i wonder if there isnt a price to be payed for it...
