Having my wallet is something I really like.

Coincidentally, not having it is proportionately unlikeable.

mad puke blackeyed puke mad

So I wake up at Unravled's house and couldn't find my wallet anywhere and after freaking out and tearing all the couches apart, I figured I left it at Midieval Times, which is like the size of the moon, and filled with hundreds of people who'd much rather take my wallet than hand it in to someone or call me.

Still, not having many options, I stopped there at like 10:30AM on my way back up home to see when they might be open to help me, and talked to the several administrative office people that were surprisingly around and they couldn't find anyone around in the building to look for it.

So I drove home and called every 30 minutes until they said no one would be in until 1PM, and when I called at 1, they said "they're all setting up for the show or working on the show, and no one is available, you should just keep trying to call and maybe we can get a hold of someone if we're lucky." So I left a message with the guy saying what I had lost in hopes that someone might be able to get passed the note and take a look when they had the chance.

So, frustrated and unwilling to drive back down there without a guarantee, I crashed for an hour and that's when Ericallen and WhoDoVooDooWeDo each decided to call my cell, which I left in another room and couldn't hear (attn: friends...please ask for my home phone number if you only have my cell), telling me that they had left something down at Midieval Times and when they went to pick it up, my wallet was there. If I had gotten the calls, I could have saved myself another hour and a half driving down there and back again in terrible traffic, and save the 20 bucks or so on gas. Amazing coincidences. Ugh.

Anyhow, I parked and surfed the sold-out lunch show crowd to deal with a bunch of confused Squires in mysteriously unmidieval sneakers, until finally someone understood I didn't want to go in to see the show, and I was the guy whose wallet had been the topic of several different communications during the late morning. A very nice young Midieval Wench in a futuristic pink turtleneck and high heels with a piece of wizardy that Merlin once called a "Walkith of Talkith" said "oh, wait is your wallet the black one with the flames on it?" and went inside to retrieve it for me. All my cards and IDs and other important stuff was in there and untouched, except for the 90 or so bucks, which I didn't really expect to see there anyway.

So All in all, I guess it's a slightly happy ending, though an expensive one. I suppose if someone were to outright steal my wallet from me and tell me "Hey, douchebag, you can either pay me 110 bucks to get it back untouched, sans teh cash inside, or you can just let me keep it and go through the hassle of replacing all your shit and worrying about it for weeks" I'd probably just pay the fucker in a heartbeat. If only the whole thing could have been avoided.

-I bet in the real Midieval Times, this shit happened all the time. Dragons and Warlocks stealing identities left and right. Truly they were dark times.
Dave

PS: Thanks for all the Birthday wishes, I'll go back and go through all of them in detail a bit later, sorry.

Don't worry about it. Being too busy to keep up on what's going on with your friends is understandable. I mean, it's kind of lame in a way, but I've been there many times myself. It's all right, really.
