So on July 2-5 I'll be at the Tule Lake Pilgrimage. Tule Lake is the concentration camp where the U.S. government stuck "disloyal" Japanese Americans during World War II. Good times.
The pilgrimage seems to be more of a celebration of the JA community and survivors of the camps, won't be such a downer. It's packed with events and tours of the area and remaining structures.
Me and my big mouth, I was looking for a commitment that would force me to finish my cut and I got it. I'll be screening my documentary at the Tule Lake pilgrimage and at Buena Vista United Methodist Church, where I screened and earlier cut last year. Will be such an honor to screen my film (which interweaves the internment with the post-9/11 mass arrests of Muslim immigrants) there!
And naturally half my remaining days before I ship out are filled with freelance work that tumbled in. Today I'm a bit stressed and wondering why my life is always like this. But it'll turn out fine...just manage my time and breathe.
