Last Friday my office girlfriend was laid off with about 30 other people in the office. She works for one of my parent companies that are not doing all that well right now. I have found out just how cold blooded that they are they get the week between Christmas and new years off well for a bunch of people the got more time off starting the day they got back from vacation.
I have to give my boss a lot of credit she let me help some of my friends pack up which at times was quite painful watching someone throw away something that you gave them out of love does a little more than sting. I had one of the most tearful goodbyes ever and of course it was very public making it much more intense.
Friday did get a little worse Jill gave me her new cell number and wanted me to call her later so I called her later 2 rings then voicemail I tried 4 more times same result and no return call. I wound up asking one of our other friends to tell her that I missed her already. Friday fucking killed me so I was able to leave a little early (once again thanks boss) that did kind of ruin my weekend I missed a call to my office phone from Jill explaining that she had may have given me the wrong number and that she had lost my cell number with her old phone so I spent all weekend pretty much drunk off my ass depressed and hurt.
Today was quite uplifting I listened to my voicemails when I got in this morning the third one was the best it was from my Jill with her explanation, I sent her an email because 6 am is a little too early to call anyone just how my weekend went and to write down my number in a book and dont lose it.
We had a nice little phone call (45 minuet) clearing out all the confusion from Friday. I did find out that she has an interview on Thursday for a new job I am so happy and crossing my fingers for this. one of the other things that I had checked on this morning was my powerball ticket from Saturday because I was a little unable to do so over the weekend and to my surprise I finally won something I won had 4 numbers which won me $100. I told Jill about this and she said good you can take me out Friday night. Friday night will be our first real date no stupid work rules getting in the way.
Friday my heart felt heavy like an armored vault now it feels free as a bird
