Dog bites suck not just when they happen but two days later they really suck. I went for my two day checkup Tuesday after work mainly because my hand was turning red, swelling and very warm to the touch. The ER doctor was quite surprised at how bad my hand was after taking my vital signs I was admitted me to the hospital with a nasty infection.

When they told me that I had cellulitis needed IV antibiotics for the next 24 hours I knew that I was floored what was happening. The last thing I wanted was to be in the hospital. When I finally filled out all the paper work they prepped me and drew more blood from me than I have ever had taken I was lightheaded by the time that they where done after they where done the doctor stuck his head into the room and asked if I wanted some morphine for the pain I had to say no the last thing I wanted to be was stoned and sick.

I am amazed at how fast the antibiotics started working I was feeling like a new man in the morning I saw the doctor about a dozen times during the day on Wednesday. The doctor kept saying that I should be released sometime late that day, because my temperature was still too close to 100 I had to stay another night. This morning the swelling and redness was almost all gone I was feeling even better than yesterday my doctor explained why he didn't let me go the day before and then telling me that I was going home today.

They changed my medication from augmentin to keflex and I am not to take any pain medication, I don't like this because the keflex has been making me dizzy.

I called my friend Mark who owns the dogs that bit me I thought that he was going to shit a brick when I told him about the infection, he is worried that I am going to sue him over this that is the furthest thing from my mind.
