I can now officially say that I have seen a tornado up close. Wednesday was an odd day there where some nasty storms blew through Pittsburgh the first one really hit at about 8 am and we got something like 3 inches of rain in an hour. I got to the office at 6:30 and it was lighter then than it was at 8 a couple of the old guys in the office where telling us that this is what Pittsburgh looked like in the 40's and 50's with the steel mills going it was that dark.

The next storm showed up in town a little after 2 and tried its hardest to block out the sun like the first one. We all watched the storm slowly come in. When the sky's opened up it was nasty my office is right on the Ohio River across from Heinz field and the Carnegie science center. we where all watching for lightning flashes when everyone noticed this rain squall coming up the Ohio but it was twisting and kind of centralized just over the river I didn't think it was a tornado but I saw on the local news that it was confirmed that a weak tornado went through the west end of Pittsburgh what I saw ended when it hit point state park but there where some buildings in a straight line from there that got fucked up from the wind. I was watching the front part of this and missed what some of the other people saw the tulip on the end of the building get torn to shreds . I can now say that I saw a tornado up close and personal the weather service called it weak but I was still impressed.

After the tornado passed I was the only one still at the window every one else backed up but I wanted to see more.
