Atlanta's starting to suck much, much ass. I've lived here for a better part of my life and watched it change from a small, backwater country ass city to a pretty cool place to be if you know where to go. Now that's all changed. A while ago the city started shutting down the bars at around 2 or 3. Most of the cool places have closed because people would go to them after hours. when the bars went the entertainment went with it. A lot of bars that were venues for small local bands have shut down. Even some of the larger larger venues are shutting down cause of the restrictions. Anyone that has played or seen shows in ATL will mourn the loss of clubs like the Chanber, The 9 Lives Salloon, the Masquerade, Backstreets, the Riviera, the list goes on and on. Even the Echo Lounge, where Suicide Girl shows have toured in the past is closing its doors for good. So many casualties I'm thinking of building a wall or a statue or something. The only places to see shows here now have corporate names over the doors. Worse yet, the city has sponsored a series of clubs called Kenny's Alley in the new Underground Atlanta, trying to drum up business for the crime-ridden cesspool that it is. And guess what? You can drink there till 4 in the morning, just like you could all over the city before the ban! It's got all these different clubs that would normally never be together crammed in one place. A Latin club, Irish pub, Drag show, metal bar... It's like Pleasure Island at Disney World with a leather bar and Drag queens. Squeezing all those people into that area, giving them liquor till 4 and having Shins rubbing elbows with Drag queens and Mambo dance enthusiasts just seems like a really bad idea, but what the fuck do I know? I'm not on the city council.

I also noticed a lack of Black clubs. Now, they are pretty much everywhere... except Underground...hmmmm

So really thinking about LA now. It was always an option to go when I got out of school. better get to work then...

Oh, and I've decided that, on the dating front, I'm just gonna start being an asshole. That way I'll either be left alone (my preferred result) or I'll attract women that like that. I've observed too many times that the greasy little shit stain who'd rather smack someone around than treat her like she's worth something is the one that gets the girl. Now bare in mind I don't actually WANT to be in a relationship, so either way I'll win. Really tired of setups that go nowhere. I figure I'll play hard to want and retain my piece and sanity.
