Way back in '93 or '94 (I can't fucking recall which) I was watching SNL and they had some skit that took place in a bar or night club or something. It wasn't very funny, I don't think, but there was suddenly this woman on the screen of my tv who made me sit up and point in the general direction of said woman and say, "who is that???" She was perfect; jet black hair and eyes the colour of... jet... ?
What the fuck is jet?
I had no idea who she was, but she was hot. Not hot in the way that any of my buddies agreed with, but hot in the way that I totally found her hot. She was my type. She was dark (okay, her skin wasn't dark, but this is my story not yours) and svelte (I'm not even sure what that means - probably not what I'm thinking) and had this look about her like she was strong and intelligent and funny and just generally had her wits about her; very [I[there. You know how some people seem to really be in their own skin and really be aware? She had eyes that you could look into and there would very definitely be someone looking back.
That might sound strange, but if you want to know what I'm talking about go rent Joe Versus the Volcano. They don't really talk about it in that movie, but it's a better movie than people think.
I got the impression that she was one of those nobody cast members; the ones who were introduced at the 19:57 mark of the 20 minute introduction. The ones who, even after 10 years of being a nobody cast member, get a "who?" when their name comes up. I didn't watch the show regularly enough to catch her name, but oh! did I want her. Apparently not bad enough to watch the start of a broadcast of SNL and pay attention, but whatever.
Years later, I was watching Something About Mary with one of the most prudish persons I know (bizarre experience) and THERE SHE WAS! Wonderful, beautiful woman was right there before me once more! Oh frabjous day! Calloo! Callay!
And so it came to pass that I was made to feel that I "discovered" Sarah Silverman back when everyone else would have said "who?" about her. Back when nobody was watching the SNL that she was a lame-o cast member of I was - ahead of my time - so totally wanting to bone her.
And that's a special feeling.

I have yet to see anything with Sarah Silverman in it. This makes me sad. I suspect I will really love her when I finally do.
