I woke to find this news waiting for me. Gordie Howe passed awsy this morning at the age of 88. The only athelete to play professionally in 5 decades. Came out of retirement to play pro hockey with two of his sons. But outside of all he accomplished in the relm of hockey, he was a true gentleman and kind hearted being. Built like a fortress, he was intimidating on the ice, but a soft spoken giant off giving hours apon hours of his time for fans and children. Giving to a fault, he would take time for each and every fan until the last one left. If even a quarter of atheletes modeled themselves from Gordies example, imagine the dreams that could be achieved. The world lost an incredible man today. My heart is shattered.
