I have seen most post about something scary that has happened to them. I recently read a post of a photographer who was almost assaulted and scammed by a blonde and phantom truck on a trip. I had a similar experience.
Mothers day 2006, i had delivered a mothers day card after work at 5 am to an ex's mother. She lived close to my old neighborhood and I was driving to get back on the interstate. It was raining hard and as i drove, i came upon a woman walking in the dark. Since it was my old neighborhood, i pulled along side and asked if she needed a ride to get out of the rain, and she agreed.
She climbed into my truck and thanked me. She told me a story of leaving her abusive boyfriend and she was walking to a girlfriends house. She gave me directions to a row of houses that was one block parallel to my old house. I had been on that street many times. She pointed to a house that had a big tree in front so i parked there. We sat there for almost two minutes as she told me of her boyfriend hitting her and locking her in a bedroom when suddenly a hand hit the driver side window!
I thought i drove right into a domestic dispute and as i turned, she jumped out of my truck and a guy with a gun jumped in. The hockey player and bouncer in me wanted to fight, but in may of 2004, i lost my grandmother. In may of 2005 we lost my mothers boyfriend. I didnt think the family would take my dying in 2006 so i sat static.
A second guy came in the driver side with a gun and they held me up. They stole my money, my keys, my wallet, my jewelry and anything that they could carry from my truck. They stripped my to my underware, wrapped my shirt around my head, and drove my truck down an alley. I heard them them get out and tell me not to get out of my truck. Then i heard two car doors slam and squeeling tires.
They thought i was stranded, but i had spare keys under the wheel well. I jumped out, grabbed my spare and droveoff to find a cop and make a report.
Two days later, i read in the paper of another robbery like mine but this one ended up in a shoot out with police. I called and was connected to a detective who came out to my bar with a photo line up. I picked the girl out of the photos, and the guy from my driverside. He died in the shootout. She recieved 10 years for her role. The second guy was not caught.
Its crazy to think about that happened almost ten years ago but had i tried to fight back, i would probly be dead right now. Crazy
