well, i actually got around to setting my computer back up, in the place once occupied by my parent's nearly decade (!) old dinosaur, and i even got the old modem to work with it, too. their reasoning was that since i was going to london, i wouldn't be needing to move it until next august, so they might as well have one that doesn't suck. dad seems to be mulling over DSL, too, the fucker....i used to beg them for a high-speed connection in high school. beg them! i said look i'll upgrade to computer for you and they'd just smile and say "oh, it does what we want it too". yeah, well YOU bastards weren't itching to play quake 3!

happy xmas, btw. it was low-key, but good. dad made a tofurky this year, even (his idea!) and it was even pretty tasty, despite strongly resembling a giant-ass cocktail weenie.

looks like i saved about 1700 dollars this semester which isn't too bad for three jobs with iffy hourly rates. had i turned 21 in january instead of november, i'm sure it would be $200 higher. oh well
