The summer is winding down. This week I'm finishing up my final lighting design for a theater out in Burnsville NC. Macbeth opens next weekend. That will be the final summer show for me this season. It's been a hectic, and sometimes stressful summer, but it's been a good one. I just wish I could have gone somewhere. Things aren't... Read More
Sounds like you're busy, which is usually a good thing. Weren't you saying before that you didn't get enough theater stuff to do outside of the summer stuff? Or am I making that up?
Also, first graders don't take naps, anymore. 2.5 hours of literacy every day... NO NAPS!
I love the fact that we have a President who can say, "Come on up to the White House, and we'll have a beer and discuss it." and it happens. Granted it was a big photo-op but "The Beer Summit" as it has been dubbed, is, as I see it, a momentous occasion of proletarianism in the highest office in the land. A bunch of... Read More
I've only recently started to "learn" to drink beer. Always stuck to cider or hard stuff. The Peche is really nice. Let me know if you try it. And can I ask a super dumb question? I was told, but forgot. What the fuck is IPA again? I feel so lame in my attempts to learn!
I have not seen Moon but the poster looks awesome and I've heard good things. It's Bowie's son who did it? What is it about? I have not seen a film in so painfully long but I'm excited that Oscar season is approaching at least.
Oh and P.S.....speaking of our president again...I just bought a new fragrance oil called...Obama. Only in West Philly, one can presume. It's delicious.
This is a prefabricated message (definitely copy pasted) to say thank you for leaving a comment on my new set. I would totally write you something sweet and personal but unfortunately I have laundry to do and dogs to feed... and....
We opted for a cabin that is on the lower levels, no window and pretty much in the center so it should be good. I'm not usually one to get motion sick, but still, there's a first time for everything. And it would suck during this trip.
I've survived the first part of summer. Two productions and two lighting designs down. Midsummer closed a week ago. It turned out to be a fun show. The cast was great and really made the show what it was. We also broke all kinds of attendence recorsd with it, our largest night being around 420 people. An ironic number in Asheville.
This weekend, because of... Read More
About three weeks ago a strange rumor started around Asheville. That in a week the Beastie Boys would be playing a warm-up show at the Orange Peel on their way to Bonnaroo. It was hard to believe at first. Why on earth would they play a 900 seat club in Asheville? Stranger things have happened, and the rumors began to... Read More
Another hypothesis in my ongoing Theory of Attractiveness: For each degree of upward temperature change there is a corresponding exponential increase of the percentage of attractive females. I propose it correlates with the shedding of the outer garments that accompany said temperature change. I will soon publish my research in the journal Nature.
In other news, I play Demetrius in a production of Midsummer Night's... Read More
I'm officially swamped. I have no free time until September. Since April I've been in one show, and I've had two lighting designs. From now until September, I am in four shows, and have five lighting designs as well. I love doing theater, but I might have bitten off more than I can chew this summer.
And the rabbits. And the miniature horses.
You're going to need a bigger boat.
