so the VMAs were tonight. that's the video music awards for anybody who doesn't know. every year i early anticipate them just so i can have the pleasure of ripping them for being completely fucking horrible and every year they do not disappoint me.
to be honest i really had very little interest in watching the show. i turned down a friends invitation to come over, and i went and shot pool with my dad. but they were on the tv in the pool hall so i had no choice but to be subjected to their violence.
while at the pool hall i noticed that there were at least 3 really shitty bands that played back to back... i think they were hoobasucks, yellowcoat, and jet. putting them back2back2back was actually a great idea by mtv and was very fitting since all three sound virtually indistinguishable.
then at the end of the show during outkasts performance, mtv cuts to the credits right in the middle of the fucking performance of hey ya!!! what a disgrace!! it's the closing to the show, the biggest performance of the night. the grand finale and they just cut away like who cares????
to be honest i don't even really know much of anything else about the show. i mean maybe i would've been a little more interested to watch if mtv had actually said who was going to be performing. the only commercials i saw said they would have jessica simpson, hoobastank, and chris rock... i mean dave chapelle. i guess music isn't enough to hold peoples attention span for a whole awards show anymore, so mtv has to get comedians in place of the actual performances. as far as who hosted the show, i don't even know. maybe dave chapelle was the host for all i know..
and who the hell is this jo-jo girl? undeniably she's cute as hell but what the fuck did she do to deserve to be on the vma's? and did you see the way she was talking? what do you call it when a white person tries to sound like a black person from the street? is there a name for that? god i hate the way that hip-hop flavored talk sounds. it just sounds so ridiculous.
i wish i could rip into the mtv awards even more, but unfortunately that's about all i saw of the show.
what did anybody else think about the show?

I'm pretty sure the rise in sales of Frou Frou's details is due to the sond Let Go being on the Graden State soundtrack and also being featured in the movie's TV spots.
