No, I feel ya on that. My thing is .. I don't do the Southern -people- and culture. And these are Northern transplants I'm staying with, in a pretty big city, so I feel like it should be fine.
But I have the same thing, where most of that state and FOR SURE the rest of the lower half of the map [minus the more tourist-y portions (Florida, SoCal, etc)] gives me the shivers. Too much hee-hawin' and grillin' up 'coons. Trucks in front yards, on cinder blocks, ..
My family moved to Alabama. That's why they're not here, and I'm .. well. The only one of my last name in the state that I'm related to. ALABAMA.
Yeah. I don't do that shit.
But this shouldn't be like that.
The places I want to visit in the US are almost all major cities or cultural spots, or things they could make calendars out of [that would all look like resort brochures]. I am highly judgmental.

The Hurt Locker - 5/5
Wow! So from the opening scene until the closing scene this movie pretty much defines "edge of your seat" cinema. I think I was holding my breath for the better part of 2 hours. And once it's all over it still doesn't let you breath a sigh of relief. Using set pieces and claustrophobic locations (even one out in the...

This will go on my list. Though I don't really have a list at the moment.. or a DVD player, even. I think I am making one.
Not a DVD player, but a list.

Yeah, Best Buy actually has 'em for only about 30. I'm a BBY person. ;] But .. my wallet's kind of bleeding at the moment. I watch movies on my computer if I watch them, these days. I'm apparently the only person that doesn't bother. I'm waiting for my brother to get fed up enough next time he's up to just buy me one. It almost happened last summer.

My Ipod is a wreck, and I keep telling myself, one of these days I'm going to go through this stuff and fix it so it makes sense. That day is today.....well at least partly. I have a feeling this is going to take a while. I have a lot of missing songs/artwork etc to fix.

Yeah. Mine would fit some people's "POS" category, but not for any good reason other than dollar value and year. But it was my dream car since 7th grade, and when it came time, I still bought it. There are a lot of other reasons, too ..
I find it ironic that I just made a post of my favorite possessions and I didn't include it. Le sigh.
But, while I don't know if it's totaled [though I'm thinking this is safe to assume] -- I'm online shopping for the next generation of the same thing. :] It's comforting.
What do you drive now?

Highfive.
I drive / drove an Eclipse. :] I was actually talking about Lancers last night. It's literally one of two sedans I've ever liked / could ever go for.
But I think I need another Eclipse before I can move on. <3

Today has been day 3 of P90X. The exercising is rough, I've realized how terribly out of shape I am. I've stuck with it so far though, so I think I'll be good. I figure if I make it through the first two weeks I'll be ok. The diet has been going well, I just don't have it figured out quite yet. I'm the worlds...

I really want to see Youth in Revolt as well. And A Guide to Recognizing your Saints is next on my Netflix. I have been wanting to see it for a long time now and I just kept finding new releases that I added above it. Good luck with the workout and diet, I'm in the same boat. Take care!
chrysis:
Yeah, I sniffed that out about him. I'm actually kind of sad we don't talk anymore.
But. I'm of the flake variety as well [however trying to get it fixed]. Meh.

I don't, but I've always been curious. I don't know why [re: Tegan & Sara]. Will look into this.
Will also find the basis for the feud. Err, well, the lyrics anyway. There are only theories on the grounds [dundundunnnnnnnnnn].

Brand New Lyrics:
That song's about a guy from TBS. If you look it up, there are theories about how Jesse and [John? I don't know the guys, but that's the name I saw] were best friends since childhood and somebody fucked somebody over, etc, etc.

I haven't seen those movies, I do want to start watching movies again. Perhaps that's another resolution I can make. To go out more & watch movies like I used to

2010. I want a flying car, and I want it now!
This never occured to me at the decade turn -- my brain seems to only be programmed for millenia -- but on New Years Eve my brother called and before we hung up, he told me that when I woke up, there'd probably be flying cars and I'd get to rope one down [as if they'd been born & were in need of taming], how exciting, good luck sleeping now, etc. Haha.
Anyway, regarding Huey Lewis & the News -- that's actually funny. I put customers into a computer all day at work, so I memorize as many names as possible, and this one lady's name is Huey. So I still, eight months later, never know whether it's Huey or Lewis .. because I teach myself by neumonics. .. When I finally told her why I always struggled, she thought it was hilarious .. and was also [impressed?] that someone so [young?] knew who that was .. which I thought was weird, until I asked around and no one I work with remembers them.
Shame, shame.
SUBLIME IS FULL OF MOTTOS BY THE WAY. I mean, if you cut around the drug references.

I'm going to be starting P90X. It's going to suck, but hopefully I'll feel a bit better about myself once it's done.
