So tonight I had a rigorous debate over the (non)existence of morality, free will, and the soul against a hopeless romantic (who also happens to be an ex girlfriend of mine), an Iraq War veteran (who has quickly become one of my best friends), and my bartender (who's a card carrying Christian but we get along anyway).
And, afterward, after the hopeless romantic/ex-gf drove me home, I helped a quartet of Russians drag a Toyota out of a mud hole near my parking lot.
It was a very good night.
Maybe not "blog" worthy, but exciting all the same. I wish I could have more nights like this, (half) drunken philosophical debates and randomly helping strangers out in the street -heroism, no matter how minor, validates me just as much as it does anyone else I guess.
Hopefully my New Year's Eve will be just as exciting or moreso? Here's hoping...
