Good day at work, a lot of shit got sorted out. I realized that both my parents have _huge_ issues with anxiety and paranoia, some of which is not unfounded. So, I guess you could say I come by my, shall we say, "mental procilivities" honestly. Although I've never been paranoid, I guess I'm sensitive to those who are, especially my parents. Sometimes I just need to accept that the worst won't happen and put a basic trust in people. I wrote an e-mail conserning work in the middle of the night last night and sent it to my boss and my VP, please, learn from my experiance, it isn't a good idea.

Oddly, being a geek and having access to a lot of technology, making shit easier for myself to use and a lot more seemless, I have to be more aware of social taboos. Kind of funny really, someone who's not comfortable in a social setting has to be _more_aware of social cues, roles, and behavior. We can find examples of this anywhere, but, none the less ammusing and disconcerting at the same time.

So with all this work shit sorted out, it's back to security jobs for me. w00t.

In other news, have you ever been in a position where you want to do something nice and considerate for someone, but it has to be all or nothing, or else they get pissed off? Here's an example, I walk outside to throw a gatorade bottle in the recylcing bin, I notice my step-dad's car dome light is on. So, I re-shut the driver and passanger side doors with no luck. Get in, monkey with the switch and turn it off. I write him a little note explaining what happened, leave him my car keys in case he wants to use my car and my mom's help to jump start his ride.

Here's the thing, the question will be "how did the light get stuck on in the first place?" If Bob was to drunk to remember leaving it on, or my mom decides not to remember or doesn't fess up, it lands on me as being a lie. Further stressing out the already tense relationship between my step-dad and myself.

The upshot of all this the last three weeks I'm in town before school starts, I'll be house sitting for some friends and their animals. An entire house to myself, complete with three cats, two snakes (boas? pythons?) and a Rotweiler named Rocky. I'm considering bringing Rocky into work with me and having him stand guard by my cubical so he can eat anyone that tries to bother me. Christ, I love that dog.
