Big Josh is flying into town today, just for a night, on his way to Seattle, I think

Picking him up at the airport in a couple hours, then meeting up with his brother a few hours later

It'll be good to see the big guy

Ho jesus - your town had better watch out if you guys are going out together. Do they have adequate bomb shelters? wink

Have a good one amigo and say hi to the big guy from me/us.

Fanny is in town!!

I zipped out to Hollywood tonight after work, picked her up from the theater where the SG Burlesque tour just wrapped up for the time being, and we went and had L.A. adventures together.

She brought along a couple friends, one of whom had also lived in London, and we got to trade fun London stories together.

You know, I can't...

So they did a bit of prelim testing, then went straight into surgery. One artery was almost completely blocked, but they were able to clear it without doing a bypass, and the rest they're going to treat with medication

So basically, all should be ok

Got a phone call from my sister tonight

Thing with my family is, we pretty much never talk, and we're all okay with that, but we consider ourselves to be really close. There's a savage loyalty to each other underpinning that, and it works for us.

So when I got a call from her at night, like after 10pm her time, I knew something was...

Hope Bobby gets better, thats not a good situation, with a bit of luck the surgery should do the trick, my thoughts are with you.

There's something about barmaids, same way as there's something about flower sellers.

I wasn't going to stay out long

I was just going to have a couple of beers and go home

After all, it was a Friday night, and I don't really like being out on weekends (amateurs abound).

But the cute barmaid was working, so I stayed a little longer.

Next thing I knew, I was locked in drinking for free with the employees until...

I love those kinds of stories, especially when I've heard them all before.

I'm jumping off of the SG boat--which means you'll have to start throwing these up on MySpace or something. I've always dug your journals, yo--I'll leave you with the best advice I ever got off of a bathroom wall:

"Fuck it up!"

Things are sort of settling down. I still haven't finished unpacking, mainly because I haven't had much time off -- I'm scheduled 6 days this week, so my one day off was spent running errands and doing what I could to organize the house a bit. Made some progress, but not enough. Not too happy about having all these boxen stacked up everywhere. I doubt...

Boxen, I thought you were in LA, not the bay area, or does the influence of The Jargon File make it that far south too wink

Almost bumped into Tom Baker last night, but didn't quite get the chance to talk to him, it's going to happen though.

Tonight I sat in a bar after work listening to a former pimp extoll the virtues and vices of his past lifestyle

It was educational.

We both decided we were better off out of it.

I'm about halfway unpacked.

I have too much stuff.

I'm back

I have stuff

----

Got off work Friday night, home around midnight. Airport shuttle was coming to pick me up at 3.30, so I just went to the bar and drank until about 2.30, grabbed a cheeseburger on the way home, zipped up my bag, and headed to the airport.

Got in, grabbed my stepdad's big black Cadillac (he wanted to drive the...

So tonight is my 8th straight day of work, since I've got the next 5 days off to fly to Dallas, load a truck, and drive back

I'll get out of work around midnight, and my flight is at 6am ... that's not too exciting.
