cali was cool, drumming was fun, and oh hell yeah did i get hammered saturday night. the topper was from the cute girl i was talking to, when the tray full of vodka shots arrived (thanks, henry), and she says to me, "you have to drink mine, i'm driving and i've already had more than i should have." so i valiantly downed 2 vodka shots on top of all the whiskey and grand marnier already churning in my stomach. i don't remember much after that, aside from singing "walk on the wild side" -- yeah, it was karaoke night. on that note, henry and i had a bowie-off as well -- he sang 'ziggy stardust' and 'rebel rebel,' and i sang 'rock n roll suicide' and 'changes.' i was declared the winner by a woman that saw bowie for the first time the same year i was born.
on the flight home i was sitting next to this older guy in a suit. we hadn't said a word to each other. about halfway through the flight, he asks me what line of work i'm in. this developes into him telling me he might have the perfect position for me at this company that he is the CEO of, and he took down my contact info, gave me his card, asked me to email him a resume, and wants to have a conference call with 3 of his senior engineers. he even pulled out a bunch of presentation materials and started going through all the stuff his company does and where i would fit in. so i guess i might be moving to san diego soon? guess we'll see how it all turns out!
