6am, just in from the datsuns show. dollface and i took in the show, then hit estelle's (cute bartendress was working). my friend karl from cinci was in town; i left estelles around 1.30 to take him to his car so he could go to his hotel to sleep before a meeting this morning, then i went back to estelle's to continue drinking with dollface....

nothing like the after drinking breakfast... i've seen a few friends bow to the power of greasy bacon. i had to coach one of my friends through his meal because he wasn't feeling the vibe.. first the toast, then the homefries, followed by bacon, and runny eggs on top.

delicious.

i think the datsuns are way overrated.

first i have to say, mad props to dollface for taking all these pictures at the paybacks show, including #3 over there to the left. not much different than #1 from the other day, but a little clearer.

spent the first half of the day tearing apart a stage set from an R.Kelly video shoot that a friend of mine got from a local theater...

paybacks picture #2 over there now.

productive day today. fair amount of progress made towards turning my apartment into a habitable space. i'm happy about this.

lots of good shows coming up in this town this spring. i'm also happy about that.

should have a small influx of money soon, which i am *definitely* happy about.

very promising meeting in 2 weeks' time that could...

i like this action photo series... very nice. my compliments to you, and the photographer too.smile

i find an onslaught of liquor helps to keep my brain in check, but i'm sure you're familiar with this concept.. drums are a hard one.. i'm buying my first guitar next week, and i'm trying to figure out how to not piss off my new neighbours. i'll set the precedent the first night, and then everything else will be like gravy.

my drummer's name will be roland.
nopantsdave:
You could just set the drums up on the street and go at it. Put out somthing for people to put donations in....and then maybe you wouldn't have to find a real job.

well, you just can't use the same ball at every bowling alley. tonight's lesson was that my good bowling ball is worthless at the diversey river rock & bowl. i had to use my cheap ball to get any decent scores, 121 and 137, in order my last 2 games. had to readjust to throwing that ball some. my other ball just has too much...

This cd rkks, thanks for helping me be immoral.
Today my thoughts are on those balls which are hit with bats....I must do some looking into that.

today: ran some errands, bought a bunch of stuff i need for my apartment, like glasses, casserole dishes, measuring spoons, etc. cleaned up the abode a little, talked to some people about jobs in the post-internet boom economy and my place in it. got some financial things in order. put up more shelves. still need to do laundry.

tonight: rock & bowl

see that over there to the left? that's me and wendy case from the paybacks, rocking out to the bellrays last night in madison, wi.

\m/ \m/

what a great fucking show. the opening band, wisconsin local act Bleed, was pretty good; the paybacks were astounding, even better than the night before in chicago, and the bellrays, whose recordings don't do much for me, were...

did you tell john that i want to find his shoes kicked off in two different directions in my apartment?

he has great shoes.

i am brilliant at avoiding the people i actually want to talk to.
tunnelslats:
Rkken. I'm glad to hear it went well. Did you get a chance to sing this time? Hopefully next time there's rockin' antics on the road I'll be available.
Bleed is pretty fun too.

that journal entry sucked.

the paybacks last night were completely bad ass. i can't repeat this enough, that if you have the opportunity to see them, you must.

i think i might soon be at peace with myself. that would be great.

you could always just get some peas with yourself. they are in season right now.

we're gonna rock the boat!!!

So, do you go bowling there every Monday? I'd love to go again (hopefully feeling a bit less tired than last time). smile

damn.

tonight was another night of blown opportunity. i mean, not completely blown, as i had a great night seeing the paybacks with dollface and tunnelslats but .... i messed it up a little when i had the opportunity to make it a little bit better and failed to take that opportunity. i mean, it wasn't anything huge ... best probable case scenario would not...

went to my roommate's work party last night at this irish pub, to kind of bail him out from having to talk to work people all night. he left around 8.15 to go play basketball, and i stayed, talking to this girl that was also someone's friend that didn't know anyone else there. then as all those work-people began to drift off, some guys that...

last night: bowling with a contingent of the local SG crew. bad bowling, good company, lots of scotch.

today: job hunting. will the excitement ever end?

"Bad bowling?"
Help me out here, I don't understand this concept...how can something such as bowling ever be bad?

I just noticed you're a fan of Shadow of the Vampire. Good flick, I love Nosferatu references and such. Any chance you've seen Merhige's first flick, Begotten? It's pretty amazing.
