I woke to a quietly overcast day and found my thoughts refreshingly untroubled--even with the problems and questions of the previous days. I stayed slugabed for a spell and attended to my email while rediscovering the Kings of Convenience. Then, I rose, pulled on an old pair of North Carolina basketball shorts, and wandered into the kitchen. There I selected a few almonds, two pink lady apples, some oka cheese, and pain de Campagne with the locally-made cultured butter I prefer. I took all that to the balcony and watched the world go by as I ate and listened to a mix of Zero 7, Royksopp, and the Kings of Convenience. Then I cleaned and groomed with my assortment of Bumble & Bumble, Jack Black, and Tom's of Maine products. I dressed casually in jeans, tee, and flip flops--I am after all a programmer. I tucked my new prototype PocketPC Phone into my back pocket and left for work. As I drove and thought about my morning, I almost could understand why some people seem to think I have taste and some minor joie de vivre.

Almost.

I was thinking about that worm in wherever the fuck China after I saw it scroll by on my schools news ticker type thing; and I began to ponder your earlier entry. I had my nose in my pithy science book and I thought this:

Second law of thermodynamics.

Suddenly it is all clear kemosabe.
