I woke up, threw on some comfortable old clothes, and had a flawless day. I had breakfast at the Maltby Cafe, which if you've a Seattleite and have never been, you really should remedy that. I had scrambled eggs and fried red potatoes with grilled onions and cheddar. I also had bacon. Oh God, the bacon. I swear it must have been a quarter inch thick.

Then I took the Evo out for a run. I had Spoon and Kanye West and Bloc Party to listen to, and I blasted up 405 at speeds up to 120. Nothing like hearing the turbo scream in traffic.

Then I went shopping. One of the first things I went for was running shoes. I always buy from Seattle Running Company, because they videotape you on a treadmill and analyze your stride mechanics before fitting you. I haven't ran in years, and last time I went, they told me my right ankle was over-pronating horribly, which bummed me out because my stride mechanics used to be picture perfect.

Today, my stride mechanics were picture perfect again. Apparently a couple years of being overly careful of the ankle gave me enough time to let it heal. I was so happy that I started calling people just to tell them that.

I bought some books and some comics and wandered around a bit after that. I found a collection of all of Alan Moore's DC super-hero work, and I could scarcely get the money out of my pocket fast enough.

After that, it was pretty much basic stuff. I picked up a couple Nalgene bottles, because my enviro-hippy leanings (I do realize the irony of owning a sports car and worrying about the environment, but I am only human) have caused me to feel bad about how many plastic bottles I throw in the recycle bin at work.

Then I get a good Chicago-style pizza, a six of hefewiezen, and came home to watch James Bond. I've seen all these movies at least twice, and I'm still in love.

You know, I always wanted to be Q. Everyone else wanted to be Bond, but I loved Q. I was born to be a nerd with cool toys.
